Tuesday Tutorial – Acetate & Glitter
Hello Everybody, Shellie here with another Tuesday Tutorial!
I LOVE glitter, so this weeks tutorial focuses on just that!! This is one of my fave techniques because it adds so much sparkle to your stamped images and uses some of those products (Acetate & Glossy Accents) that otherwise tend to just sit there
For this project I used: Stampendous Glitter, Clear Acetate Sheets, StazOn Black Ink, Glossy Accents, Large Scalloped Squares and Large Inverted Scalloped Squares Nestabilities Dies, Scotch Removable Tape, Big Shot Machine, D'Vine Swirls Cuttlebug Embossing Folder,Turquoise Gem VersaMagic Ink Pad, Kaiser Craft Foam Tape, Kaiser Craft Papers, May Arts Ribbon, Scor Tape and White cardstock.
Acetate & Glitter Technique:
1. Stamp your image onto an acetate sheet using black StazOn ink.
2. Flip Acetate over and apply Glossy accents to the center of your flower only.
2. 'Dump' glitter onto the Glossy Accents.
(I mixed together gold and yellow glitter to make a softer colour for the center of my flower)
3. Shake off excess glitter.
Your image will look like this.
4. Repeat this step for both your green and Blue glitter.
When you 'dump' your other colours on don't worry about it covering your yellow center,
the new colours will not stick there.
5. Once finished your acetate will look like this from the front side. Set this piece aside to dry.
Now To Make This Into A Card:
1. Arrange Nesties onto white cardstock and secure with Scotch Removable Adhesive.
(I used the largest scalloped square and the 3 largest inverted scalloped square)
2. Run your Nesties through your Big Shot
(never done this before? see here for instructions on how to
use your nesties in either your Big Shot or your Cuttlebug machine)
3. Place your frame into the D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, and run through your Big Shot.
It will turn out looking like this.
4. Using the Turquoise Gem VersaMagic Ink Pad, and the direct to paper technique, ink the embossed part of the frame.
It will look like this.
5. Flip your frame over and apply adhesive, I like the Score Tape the best for this.
Attach your glittered image
(make sure your Glossy Accents is dry before you attempt this step, this will avoid any disasterous smudges of the glitter).
6. Add foam adhesive to the back of your framed image, I like the Kaiser Craft Foam Tape for this because I can make the pieces any size I want depending on the size of my frame.
7. Attach a piece of patterned paper to your foam tape.
8. Attach your finished frame to your card.
So there you have it, a great new way to use that glitter.
And now you have a reason to have EVERY colour they make… right??
Until next time, Happy Crafting!
