Purse Stationary Holder by Jo-Ann

This is a super easy project that you can do in as little as a few hours plus the cards. I love to give homemade gifts this time of the year especially Xmas cards. I am always looking for a different ways to “showcase” them, like DVD cases, plastic boxes etc. This time I did something totally different and it’s made with paper so it is super easy.

You will need to do the following:

For base of purse cut two 5.5 w x 8.5 high and score (using your Scor-Pal) at 6.25 on both (this will form the bottom of the purse) fold and add Scor-tape to the bottom of one of scored flaps and adhere the two sides together at the bottom.

1. For the inside pockets cut two  8.5 x 3.5 (using a darker cardstock makes it stand out more) score on the 8.5 inch side at 1 inch, 2 inches, 6.5 inches and 7.5 inches. On the 3.5 inch side score at 1 inch. Fold and crease with your bone folder. With a pair or scissors cut the bottom four vertical folds to the 1 inch line and remove the tab between 1 and 2 inches and 6.5 and 7.5. Fold in to form a box pocket and using Scor-tape the pocket shut.
2. Using Scor-tape the pocket to the inside on one side, not to the bottom as this will not allow the purse to open and lie flat. Do the same with the other pocket.
3. Use any type of punch EK Success Paper Shapers Large Oval Nesting Punch – 1 1/2" make an opening at the top of one side.
4. For the handles cut two (in a coordinating colour) .75 x 11 inch strips, using Scor-tape adhere them to each side of the purse.
5. For the buckle, cut one 1.5 x 9 inch (in a coordinating colour) and adhere to the pack of the purse that does not have an opening. Thus allowing the buckle to just slip in.
6. Decorating using your favorite patterned papers, and jewels.

For the cards:

1. Using the same coordinating cardstock and patterned papers create matching cards. Each pocket will hold 5 cards and envelopes.
