Tuesday with Tara {take 361} Cheers!

Happy Tuesday!  I hope you’re enjoying the 12 days of Inspiration that is being shared over on Instagram & Facebook right now!  Today’s Challenge word is CHEERS and I know there’s something fabulous & new that will be shared!

I couldn’t resist popping in with a throwback card for Tuesday with Tara though, because I thought of this Christmas Cheer card as soon as I saw the theme!  I went very non-traditional and created a card using some fun Tim Holtz stamps that many of you might have in your stash… or maybe you have something similar and never thought to “go Christmassy” with it- here’s your inspiration, I’d love to see where it takes you!

I’m thinking I want to take another go at this one, too… should be fun!

See all the details in the original post– from a Christmas in July blog hop back in 2018!

Inky hugs,

Tara

Tuesday with Tara {take 242} Spring Hugs

Happy Tuesday!

If you’ve been following along with our ‘Random Acts of Cardness’ Challenge, you may have noticed that today’s theme is TRIO.  I’m sharing my twist on the theme in todays card, which features a trio of circles, flowers & leaves. I’ve also got the added bonus of using a HUG sentiment on my card.

I’ve used flowers & sentiments from another Gina K set called Hugs & Wildflowers.  I had some scraps of paper that had been inked up with Color Burst previously and decided to die cut three MFT stitched circles from the piece.  I ended up using the tiniest circle, which was a good pair with the tiny flower I stamped!  Once again I’m also using a leaf die cut from Tim Holtz.  I anchored all the individual pieces to another stitched die cut, this time a rectangle.  (I used a set by MFT, but this one by Lawn Fawn is in stock right now.) The big hugs sentiment seemed perfect considering our monthly theme, and I added a few vintage ‘chit chat’ stickers by Tim Holtz.  I think these may have been one of the first sets of stickers he released years ago!

As a finishing touch I added some white paint splatters to the kraft card base, which measures 5.5″ square.  I hope you like it and are feeling my hugs from afar… can’t wait to see your ‘TRIO’ designs on our facebook challenge page!

Inky hugs,

Tara

Tuesday with Tara (take 234) Valentine’s Day Minis

Happy Tuesday!

Today I’m sharing with you a little throwback of some mini Valentines I made a few years ago!   The small size reminds me of classroom valentines from childhood- I hope you like them!

Since I’ve been working on some ATC’s lately, I thought it would be fun to make some Valentines minis!

I started with a base of watercolor cardstock that had already been inked up with Color Burst and trimmed them down to size (these are slightly wider than a standard ATC).  I used a lot of little bits that were left from previous projects, like die cut words & hearts and book paper.  Sequins & text stickers are tiny details that add to these minis!

The button “flair” on this one was something I designed as part of our wedding favors, I love finding ways to work them into my art!

As this mini featured a larger heart, I chose a simple black Prima flower and a big gold blingy center for it.

I had fun with these cuties, and they would be a great way to make up a bunch of coordinated, but not exactly the same, Valentines for a group of friends!  How fun it would be to give some out at a galentines party if you are single… or they could easily be mounted on a card base so you have room to include a sentiment inside!

inky hugs,

Tara
