Tuesday with Tara {take 423} Coffee for Christmas

Happy Tuesday!  It’s that time of year when I realize I have way more ideas for Christmas cards than I have time to make them… I should probably try to be one of those people who makes them all year for next years cards, then they might actually get sent out to people 🙂 I was finishing up some in progress cards and thinking about what I should post when I realized that this is my LAST Tuesday post before Christmas- yikes!   So, I’ve decided to share one I had ready to go and save more for Instagram shares this week.  Knowing me I’ll still be making them this weekend and will just have posts ready to go for next year!

This card came about when I was playing with shades of blue and found this big Lawn Fawn Merry Christmas I bought last year and didn’t get around to using… doesn’t it look fabulous cut from aquamarine glitter!?  I’ve got a variety of blues happening here, but the Lawn Fawn Knit Picky paper is a fun addition too.  I wanted to take some drinks from Catherine Pooler’s Fall Calls for Latte’s stamp set and winterize them- so inking this one in blues & adding a little snowflake to it seems to have done the trick.  I added a few more tiny snowflakes & pearls from this fun set of Sprinkletz, which was meant for shaker cards (& I will probably keep using well into January!)

Final touches are some small die cut snowflakes and sheer ribbon from my stash, plus a little sentiment from MFT that I believe is discontinued.  I think there’s some definite winter vibes happening here in this simple, whimsical card!  Hope you like it!

Inky hugs,

Tara

Tuesday with Tara {take 420} Snow Peaceful

Happy Tuesday!

It’s officially Christmas countdown time and for a pro-craft-inator like me, that means it’s full on Christmas card time!  Today that means playing with some of my new supplies- like this gorgeous Pierced Fancy Flakes A2 cover plate by Honey Bee!  I paired it with some snowflakes from my stash (these are by Memory Box, but aren’t available in the online store anymore) and a foiled sentiment using the new Stick & Shine Xmas Classics sentiments & Metallic foil by Penny Black!

As you can see, I die cut my snowflakes from some of the new Prism Whole Spectrum Glitter Cardstock- for this card I’ve used Sapphire & Chrome.   The circles feature Prism products as well- the Nesting Stitched Circle dies and the cardstock in dark blue and grey!

I tried to keep this card simple to showcase the gorgeous products, but covered up more of the background than I originally intended!  You’ll definitely see this background again soon 🙂

Inky hugs,

Tara

Tuesday with Tara {take 415} Sweet Treat Bags!

It’s not too late to put together some sweet little bags of treats before Halloween next week!  I’ve used dies, a stencil and ink all by Tim Holtz for these treats!  One thing I love about the Pumpkin Duo die set, is that you can use just the base layer as a silhouette when you want something simple, like I’ve done here!  It made a really fun window for my treat bags!
I was really hoping the cats from the Mischievous die set would be a good fit with the pumpkins, and they did not disappoint!  Cutting them out of a deep purple/black glitter paper is simply fabulous for Halloween (but they’ll be fun in a variety of colors throughout the year too)!

For the background I trimmed and scored the panel to the size I wanted (slightly larger than the plastic treat bag I filled with candy & tucked inside).  I used a blending tool to ink around the edges to start, then added more color over the entire panel through the linked circle stencil.  The fun finishing touch on these is the Sassy Spooktacular Sentiments by MFT- there’s so many fun ones in this set, I really wish I had more Halloween images to work with (who knew I’d grow to enjoy Halloween makes?)!

I used small treat bags to fill with candy, then put them in place with adhesive tape before folding over the Cardstock and punching holes for my ribbon.  I forgot to take a photo of the back of these, but it’s really nothing fancy- just a rectangle of cardstock folded over a bag.  You could definitely make it a bit fancier by creating a triangular pouch with scores at the bottom so it stood up, but these are super simple and perfect to go in my little treat bucket!

These little goodie bags went together pretty quick & easy and are such a fun way to add a handmade touch to your Halloween Treats!  We don’t get many trick-or-treaters at our house, so it was no problem making enough to go around 🙂

Hope you have a sweet day!

Inky hugs,

Tara
