Throw Back Thursday – Art Impressions Girlfriends

Art Impressions are back in stock at Scrap’n Stamp! Thought it was a perfect time to re- share this colourful card that Tara originally posted Sept 2015 – where does the time go???

girlfriends… coffee… pumpkin spice latte season!

Sorry about the late post this week, hope y’all had a great long weekend (I worked most of it, which has thrown off my days-of-the-week radar!) and if you have Starbucks nearby, hope you’ve gotten a chance to enjoy some PSL!    This is a quick little card featuring a GIRLFRIENDS image by Art Impressions, which came with the sentiment 🙂  It’s been coloured with Distress Markers and trimmed (removing the fourth lady whose skin tone was a bit… off.  ha) then layered on a card base which is layered with some double sided paper from my stash.  A few Prima flowers & pearls finish things off!

Have a great week… see you next Tuesday!

Inky hugs,

Tara

Tuesday with Tara {take 67}

Happy Tuesday, and I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving!  I’m kinda a day late on this one, but I think the project I’m sharing today can be left on display for as long as autumn hangs on, until you switch up for winter/Christmas decorations!  Today I’m sharing a BLESSED banner I made to hang on our mantle this autumn.  In my typical last minute fashion (please tell me I’m not the only one!) I got it finished and hung just a couple days in advance of our Thanksgiving dinner 🙂

We have a wood stove instead of a traditional fireplace, so the vent doesn’t allow my banner to hang quite as low as I’d like it to, but I’m still pleased with how it looks!  I’ve used canvas and printed cardstock pennants by Prima for the base of my banner, and embellished quite simply with wooden letters (inked with Distress Ink) and die cut shapes.  I selected a few colors of cardstock and added a light misting of Distress Stain (each got a tone on tone mist as well as metallic Antique Bronze) and cut some Tattered Leaves (Sizzix/Tim Holtz) and hearts.  A few paper Prima flowers add some extra texture to some of the pennants.  I’ve tied them all together with one of my fave silk ribbons from my stash as a finishing touch.

Here’s a closer look at the individual pennants:

I hope you like it!  It was a fun project!

Inky hugs,

Tara

Tuesday with Tara {take 61}

Happy Tuesday!  I have a simple card today that features pretty embellishments by Prima and a Colorburst background!  I  realized the other day that I tend to use my Colorburst in a variety of ways, but rarely do I use them in the original way I was taught- with a stencil!  So I grabbed a few colors and a stencil with a bold, open design and set out to create some backgrounds.  One inking got me a variety of background (with multiple spritzes & flips) and this card features one of the flip designs.

My card is very simple- I really just wanted to showcase the background!  I also knew I had these Prima butterflies in my stash, and I’ve been mesmerized by the butterflies in our yard lately.  We have a butterfly bush that is almost done blooming, but they still love it!  The blossoms are purple, like the butterfly on my card.

I inked my edges and stamped my sentiment (love this set by Tim Holtz!) with Distress Ink.

I made more cards from this batch of backgrounds as well, which I’ll share with you next week!  Hope you have a creative one!

Inky hugs,

Tara
