Die Stenciling

Hello all! Kia here with you today to share my card for Random Act of Cardness, keyword Stencil.

To start my card I first stenciled the background using distress inks in peeled paint, twisted citron and squeezed lemonade. I knew I wanted to use this die by Spellbinders but I was not sure how I wanted to use it.

I opted to use opaque crackle paste for the texture that it would add to the flower, and to ensure it would cover the stenciling underneath. I die cut the flower using 80lb. cardstock to use as my stencil. This will not hold up so be sure to remove it as soon as you are done applying the paste.

I did apply the paste in a rough way, which adds even more texture to the flower.

Once the paste was dry I applied squeezed lemonade, kitsch flamingo and barn door to the flower using the small circle brush from my Life Changing Brushes. I then added Midas Touch Shimmering Pen.

Again, once all was dry I die cut another flower die piece from 110lb. Neenah card, and glued it in place. I then trimmed the card panel to size and using glue attached it to my card base.

I then die cut two of the Gina K Design hugs, one from red glitter card and the other from black cardstock, gluing them together, then gluing to the flower.

This was such a fun card to make and I hope I have inspired you to try die stenciling.
