Happy Hugs

Meet Happy Hugs!

Who said that a Valentine card had to be done in Pink or Red?

If you have seen my work you will know that I love birds, so I could not resist these sweet images from Penny Black.

Starting with my background, first by die cutting the water colour paper using my Sweetheart Layers die, then did a water colour wash using a Schmincke water colour named May Green. This could also be done using Twisted Citron distress ink. Once it was dry I splattered with white acrylic paint. I stamped the bird images on the same water colour paper in Ranger Archival Jet Black ink and proceeded to colour using Zig Clean Color Pens.

To put it all together, I attached the green background, then the water coloured panel. I die cut the Heart Circle using card stock, and attached using foam squares. I then arranged the birds where I wanted them and attached them on foam squares as well. I then placed the card in my Misti and stamped the sentiment using Ranger Archival Vibrant Fuchsia ink.

Moving on to the inside, I die cut another piece of card stock in the white and stamped the sentiment and the heart from the American Crafts Heart Day stamp set. To bring the green in I sponged the heart in Twisted Citron, which was left from the Heart Circle die on the card front.

I have a video of this card which you can find here.

Thank you for joining us today at Scrap’n Stamp.
