Sparkle

Hello crafters … Kia here. Today is day 13 of the Random Act of Cardness challenges, and that is me. My challenge is Sparkle.

And sparkle is what I have with this card. I am using Gina K Design In the Navy for my cardbase. I also cut a 4×5.25 piece of In the Navy. From the Tonic Studios Gold Glitter cardstock I cut a piece 4.1/8 x 5.3/8.

First up was to apply the Stickles Gel to the single piece of In the Navy cardstock to set aside to dry. It takes a fair amount of time for this to dry, so be sure to leave plenty of time.

Using the gold glitter cardstock I die cut the circle using a Penny Black die. I then cut another piece, same size from white fun foam and die cut it using the Penny Black die, matching up the placement to the glitter card cut. I went around the edges and up and around the circle by a half inch of the white fun foam using the B14 Copic. This allowed the blue shade to peek through the design left from the die cut.

Using cardstock I stamped the Penny Black image and coloured using Copic Markers. I kept the lining of the coat lighter on the hat and sleeve, along with the mittens using Copic R22. The rest of the coat and hood was done using R20, R22 and R14. For the scarf, buttons and boots I used B12, B25 and B16, then went across the toe of the boot with my blender marker. On the tiny bird I used the B00 with a layer of E23 on the wings, then a layer of B14. On her face I used E00 and E51 and on her cheeks I used R20. I also used the B00 on the bird food bag.

To pull it all together I fussy cut the Penny Black image, then went around the edges with my black copic. I then glued the piece of In the Navy with the stickles to the card base using Nuvo Adhesive. Again using the Nuvo Adhesive I glued the fun to the back of the gold cardstock, then applied more glue to attach the top to the cardbase.

Not enough sparkle … just in case I die cut the Miss You from the gold cardstock, then coloured it with a Martha Stewart Glitter marker that I have had for years on end. It is very pretty and a tad darker than it appears in real life. To finish, I added Sakura gold glitter pen between her boots and legs as I don’t like the look of the white paper showing, kind of the same as not liking white edges.

I hope you have enjoyed today’s challenge post, and wish to thank you for visiting us here at Scrap’n Stamp. Following are Affiliate Links for the products that I have used for this card, at no extra cost to you.
