Strawberry Hello

Hello, Kia here with you today to share this watercolour card.

The challenge for today’s Scrap’n Stamp 30 Day Random Act of Cardness is Watercolour. I used Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens as my medium for watercolouring.

This stamp is from Picket Fence Studios and is called Ponchatoula Strawberries. I stamped the image on Arches Cold Press watercolour paper using VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne.

I used the lemon zest, dark pink, light pink, mango, fresh green and red to paint. I mixed some of the colours together to get certain colours on the strawberries, and lightened areas by diluting colours with water. I do this in my palette dish, which is where I release the colour from the pens.

As well, when doing the background colour I used the full intensity of the colour and blended out to the pale colour with my paint brush. For this image I used 2 paint brushes, a #4 and #6.

On the flowers I used the pale pink and blended it out the petals, then used the mango mimosa for the flower centres.

To finish up I attached my panel to Gina K Design Onyx cardstock. I die cut the vellum shadow and the hello word twice, gluing together then gluing to the shadow piece. I then added a few gems.

I hope you enjoy this card today, and wish to thank you for visiting the Scrap’n Stamp Blog.
