Tuesday with Tara {take 132}

Happy Tuesday!

Today’s card is a simple one I created to showcase the beautiful blending you can achieve with Distress Oxide Inks through a stencil… it’s so pretty!  I used a Tim Holtz music stencil and selected three colors of Distress Oxide, Cracked Pistachio, Broken China & Wilted Violet.  I started by taping the stencil to my paper with washi tape and began with the blue, which would be my middle color.  My blend was most intense in the center, then I lightened it slightly where the colors would overlap.  I love the variety of shades you can create as you blend these vibrant colors together!  Here’s a peek at what I saw before I lifted the stencil…

I wanted this background to be the focal point of my card, and these tiny die cut birds by Memory box seemed like a perfect addition, cut from glittery paper.

I added a few spotss of Nuvo Glitter Drops to the music notes for some extra texture… and tied everything together with a bit more blue- a strip of glitter paper and a simple sentiment (love this one by Impression Obsession!) on a die cut panel stamped in the same Distress Oxide Ink.  A simple wrap of thin jute finished off the card with a touch of purple.

I love the gradient of colors through this stencil and am inspired to create a series of them with a variety of color combinations.  Hope you like it too 🙂

Inky hugs,

Tara
