Tuesday with Tara {take 139}

Happy Tuesday!  Can you believe we are almost a week into March already?  It gets me thinking about spring… and green, and shamrocks (which I actually have starting to grow outside in my garden)… and so I decided to put a bit of a twist on a St. Patrick’s Day card, and make it something you could give to anyone, anytime.  I started with this “Lucky is a state of mind” sentiment by Tim Holtz and as I dug around for something to fit with it, I didn’t find any shamrocks- but I did find butterflies, and so this card came to be…

Instead of going green, I went close to it with some ombre shades of teal and a pretty metallic teal embossing powder (this one is by American Crafts).  My wreath & mini butterflies are Memory Box dies- I love these minis, which are actually a border type die, but I only had to cut it three times for this card, once in each shade.  I finished it off with a larger stamped butterfly (leftover from a previous project, I just added an embossed top layer to tie it together) and a medium die cut butterfly (from the new springtime Side-order die set!).  I added details with some Nuvo Glitter dots as a layer on some butterflies and just accent dots around the image.  I reach for these things all the time, they are such a nice subtle finishing touch to add to almost any project.  I also added bits of shimmer with a Wink of Stella Clear glitter pen.  Love those subtle touches of shimmer!

Have a beautiful day… hope you’re feeling (being?) lucky!

Inky hugs,
