Happy Tuesday!
June is a busy month for many of us, and as a card maker I am usually thinking about Dads & grads this month… we had a big graduation in our family this month as my youngest step-son graduated from high school last week! Exciting times of growth and changes and thinking forward to the future!
I’m a big fan of Dr.Seuss and the ‘Oh the places you’ll go’ sentiment on this stamp set by Tailored Expressions is one of the reasons I bought it, preparing to make a card for the big day! Imagine my delight when the valedictorian referenced the book in multiple points through her speech at the graduation ceremony. For my card, I chose to pair the sentiments with a globe die by Tim Holtz, which I cut from black, blue & green card stock. (This is an older die, but you could get a similar look with stamps like this awesome set by Concord & 9th!) I inked the edges with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink and rubbed some antique gold Art Alchemy Metallique by Prima. This was my first try using this metallic paste and it’s pretty fabulous! Here’s a closer look at the globe, which I finished off with the addition of a grad cap sticker.
I don’t often share the inside of my cards, but I combined stickers with another sentiment from the stamp set to personalize this one:
I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of how vibrant Distress Oxide inks are on kraft card stock! Love Salty Ocean for this card! The idea-ology stickers I’ve used aren’t in the online store (they are an older product you may have in your stash though!) but this fab chatter washi tape has a lot of the same elements and could be used in the same way 🙂
