Happy Tuesday! I’m still full on loving my autumn leaves stamps (Tim Holtz’s Nature’s Wonders Stamp set) and I could probably keep making autumn cards until December (and I’m not saying for sure that I won’t, in fact I’ve got at least one more in the works…) so I hope you don’t mind another fall card this week 🙂 This card is a simple one, and it might be a little heavy on the brown… but I still think it’s pretty!
This card features the same inks & resist technique as the card I shared last week, a combination of Aged Mahogany, Crushed Olive & Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide Inks over white embossed images. I achieved a very different look, however, by working on a base of watercolor card stock instead of smooth cardstock. As you can see, I went for a simpler design as well, embossing just one leaf and sentiment on the front panel of the card.
I spaced my images so that I could tie some thin twine around the watercolor panel before mounting it on a dark brown layer. I finished my background by stamping two different leaf images, one in Aged Mahogany and the other in Walnut Stain, onto a medium brown card base. Sometimes a simple card can become your favorite… I’d like to make a set of these combining different leaves and sentiments. Wouldn’t that make a nice gift?
I hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving, wherever you are! I may be living in the south, but we had a turkey dinner feast with the family here over the weekend 🙂
Inky hugs,
Tara
