Tuesday with Tara {take 198}

Happy Tuesday!

Today I’m sharing another card that features a fun, inky background with Distress Oxide Inks. Back when we had our blog hop at the beginning of the month I was torn between the color combo I used and this one… both of which featuring the springy shade “Squeezed Lemonade“. Today my combo includes Spiced Marmalade & Abandoned Coral, blended together with a Life Changing Blender Brush.

I stamped over the background with some floral images by Jane Davenport and added some ink through a stencil as well. I misted and splattered water and finally added a few more stamped images from Tim Holtz’s Media Marks set. It was a fun layered background, but was hard to know when to stop since I could have easily kept adding more layers of ink! I wanted a bold sentiment that would pull out the lemonade color, so I chose to cut this “miss you” by MFT out of a pale yellow cardstock by Lawn Fawn with a thin layer of white (which was also my base for the inked background). I adhered them together just slightly offset and brushed a bit of Wink of Stella over the letters for a hint of sparkle. I almost mounted the sentiment directly on the background… but in the end decided to add a kraft tag with some crinkle ribbon in darker shades of the same colors to finish it off.

It’s a simple card, but has some great details when you get a closer look! Here’s another angle of the blended background…

There is still time to join along in our facebook group and share your ‘Background Check’ creations! It’s been fabulous seeing what everyone is doing with this theme! Hope you’ll join us!

Inky hugs,

Tara
