Scrap ‘n Stamp Festive Open House – #8
I hope everyone is enjoying our Festive Open House today and entering to win prizes. It has been so much fun making all the samples to share with you and I hope they give you some ideas for your own festive projects.
Last Tuesday I added a new Tutorial to the website showing you how to use Crackle Embossing paste with Dreamweaver stencils so I decided to use that technique and combine it with some basic stenciling for my next project. And here it is…
I was hoping to achieve a worn, antique look that would suit the crackle finish so after creating the crackle base I put the Ornament stencil LG674 back over the image and used my 1/2 inch stencil brush to add gold all over. I used the new Tsukineko Delicata Golden Glitz pigment ink that just came into the store and was blown away by how shiny it was after just air drying for a few minutes. No heat embossing or lengthy drying required. It’s definitely my new favorite metallic ink! It has a rich, creamy consistency so it was very easy to spread and work over the crackle paste.
With the ornament stencil still on the image I overlaid the Holly & Swirls stencil LG731 and taped it in place so that I had the design where I wanted it on the ornament. Then, with my 1/8″ stencil brush I added the holly and berry design with Versacolor Evergreen and Cardinal pigment inks. And voila! An antiqued ornament. I wish you could see the beautiful shine from the Golden Glitz ink. It really is amazing and perfect for holiday projects.
There are still a couple more posts coming up for our Festive Open House with more great projects to get you ready for the holidays.
