Happy Birthday

Hello all, Kia here with you today for Day 19 of the Random Act of Cardness challenge. Today’s prompt is “Pink”.

For my card I am using Gina K Designs Elegant Asters along with Sizzix’ Embossing Folder Quilted.

I ran the Quilted embossing folder through my Gemini Jr. using Neenah cardstock. For the smooshing I put down the colours on my work surface, starting with Spun Sugar, then Kitsch Flamingo and ending with Picked Raspberry.

I continued smooshing until I was happy with the look. For the final addition of the Picked Raspberry I spritzed with Perfect Pearls and water instead of just the water. This added a lovely shine to the background.

I then dried the piece using my heat gun and attached it to my Gina K Design card base using foam tape.

Moving on I stamped the butterfly first with VersaFine Clair ink in Glamorous, then with Nocturne. I then stamped the flower using Versamark embossing ink and heat embossed with Pink embossing powder.

Using the 66 Dot card I watercoloured the flower and butterfly using the Quinacridone Pink and Quinacridone Fuschia. To the flower centre I added Hansa Yellow medium.

I then die cut the pieces and styled them using my stylist. I stamped the sentiment using the VersaFine Clair ink in Glamorous, then arranged and attached the flower and butterfly with foam squares.

To finish I added a scattering a crystals and sequins.

Daisies on Kraft Cardstock

Hi Everyone! It’s Susan and today I’m sharing a card for the Random Act of Cardness prompt which is Kraft. I used the beautiful floral image from the Floral Bunch Stamp Set from Pinkfresh Studios. I used my MISTI to stamp the image and left the stamp in place so I could stamp it again after I colored it. My original plan was to only use my Prismacolor pencils but I really wanted the flowers to pop off the page so I painted the flowers with a white POSCA Paint Pen and used my pencil crayons for the rest of the image.

I used the large die from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut the panel and adhered it to a white card base. The sentiment is from the same Floral Bunch Stamp Set and embossed white onto black card stock and added to the card with craft foam.

Happy Stampin’
and thanks so much for visiting!
Stay Safe Everyone!!

Snowflake Card using Gina K Holiday Hexagons

Hello dear friends!

Chala here for today’s prompt word “Snowflakes” and I will be using the Gina K Holiday Hexagons for my card.  I also think the Folk Art Snowflakes would be cute as well.

It is that time of year again when we need to embrace the colder weather (and snow) and what better way to celebrate than to play in your craft room where it is nice and warm and cozy!

The first step to create this card is to prepare the “ripped mask” to place on the top and bottom of the card.  You can tear the masking paper yourself or use a tear ruler like I did.

I then lay the masks down to create a strip in the middle of the horizontally laid card panel where we will place our images.  I used and ink blending brush and broken china distress ink to lightly lay down a layer of ink.  Don’t pull up the masking paper yet!  We want to stamp our snowflake images next.

Next I will lay the panel in my stamp platform and arrange the hexagon snowflakes in a pleasing pattern and ensuring part of the snowflake is on the exposed card panel and the other part is over top of the mask.  I then stamp the snowflake images in the faded jeans distress ink.

The fun part is removing the masking paper to see the image we created underneath.

The last thing we need to do to the panel is stamp our sentiment.  I used Versamark Watermark ink and silver embossing power.

I trimmed the panel down so I could add a layer of silver chrome mirrored cardstock to frame it out and then adhered the entire panel onto a horizontal top folding card base.

Here is the finished card.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

~Chala
