Happy Tuesday! I had an entirely different project in mind when I sat down to make this card… but sometimes certain pieces have a mind of their own and you’ve got to go with it! I was planning on a masculine card, but these funky little flowers I had scattered on my desk were so pretty I decided to give a bit of a masculine twist to them, pairing them with this sentiment stamp from the ‘Words for Thought‘ set of stamps by Tim Holtz, which is quite blocky. I inked up the sentiment with a few shades of Distress Marker and misted it lightly with water before stamping directly on my card front. I added a bit of distress ink around the card edges to soften the color palette.
I cut a strip of deep orange card stock to fit beside the sentiment and started my little floral arrangement there. I added some brads to the flower centers to tie together with the slightly industrial look the sentiment has… a touch of Nuvo Glitter Drops in Honey Gold finished it all off.
It was a fun card to piece together and try to find the elements to make it work… maybe next week I’ll have that masculine card to share with you 😉
