Happy Tuesday!
For the first time since I moved south to North Carolina, we’ve had a snow storm in December (aka SNOWPOCALYPSE 2018)! While most of the south shuts down with snow & ice like this, I’ve got to say that I’m kinda loving it and it is definitely helping to put me in the Christmas mood! I’m so glad I saved this card to share with y’all today 🙂 I’ve been having fun with my Snowflakes Turnabout Stamp by Concord & 9th! For this card, I decided to use the entire design on a 5.5″ square card, stamping in four different colors of Distress Oxide Ink.
I love the combination of brown & teal, especially on a snowy card. I know brown snowflakes aren’t typical, but they work great with this stamp design mixed in with the other colors of Distress Oxide Inks on a kraft base. For this card I used Cracked Pistachio, Broken China, Peacock Feathers & Vintage Photo. I really loved how this background came out, so decided to keep most of it uncovered- adding just a few die cuts and some crinkle ribbon! I didn’t capture it well with photos, but there is some sparkle on that large snowflake and ‘believe’ is cut from pearly white card stock. I added bits of Nuvo Glitter Drops (Aquatic Mist & Honey Gold) in the background for a bit of extra shine.
I’m a big fan of adding some subtle sparkle, but I’m currently working on pulling out ALL THE SPARKLE for our current challenge and upcoming blog hop- check back here on Friday afternoon for some sparkly seasonal inspiration! Until then,
Inky hugs,
Tara
