Tuesday with Tara {take 57}

Happy Tuesday!  I’m making the switch from last week’s Christmas in July card and bringing some summer to the blog… and what better way to celebrate summer than with happy colours and a nice icy beverage… yum!  Mine is coffee, but you’re welcome to imagine yours however you like… for me, coffee is one of the simplest ways to bring joy to my day 🙂

My card is simple- I used a flip-flop die by Sizzix to make the card base (which is about 5×5″ folded) and layered on a piece of textured background I created with Dina Wakely paints & stencils.  My image (by Tim Holtz) was colored simply with a mix of Distress Ink & watercolor pencils.  The sleeve was stamped on a scrap of the background design and layered onto my image before I covered the entire rest of the image with Glossy Accents.  I finished everything off with some chit chat stickers and a little canvas bloom & some bling.

It’s fun to add a sentiment on the flip side of the central image, but it is a bit tricky to photograph!  I decided to keep things simple today and use my messy work space as my background… hope you still get the idea 🙂

Here’s a couple other angles of the card front to show you the fun mix of textures and shine…

Hope the days ahead hold some simple joy for you!

Inky hugs,

    I’m so happy to stumbled upon your website while looking for crafting items in Canada. It’s nice to know there are options to shop and support Canadian businesses. This card is cute and simple. Love the colors and techniques you used.
