Mother’s Day Card Set – by Marianne

Hey Everybody,

Do you ever look at a new paper line and feel like you just have to go create something, anything, with it RIGHT NOW!

That’s what happened the first time I laid eyes on this new line from Basic Grey called Wisteria. The peaceful, pastel palette of muted blues, greens and mauves with a shade of yellow that is so soft it floats, the floral background, whimsical butterflies and dragonflies is all about Spring!

One of my favourite occasions in the Spring is when we pay tribute to our moms on Mother’s Day. Sometimes it is just in remembrance but if we are blessed to have our mom still with us, it is fun to make her something special. That’s what this project is meant to be. A celebration of MOM using beautiful Wisteria paper.

full-box

This elegant little purse/box is 4.25” wide x 4.25” long and 1” deep and holds a set of 4 greeting cards and envelopes. The purse handle is tied with some May Arts ¼” iridescent Periwinkle ribbon and secured with two large brads and some glue dots.

4-cards

It’s handy for mom (or Auntie, or Gramma or Sister) to have a card on hand for those times she wants to send a personal greeting. The cards went together so quickly using Core’dinations Nostalgia paper in the Indigo colour family which coordinates beautifully with the Wisteria paper; the new Spellbinders Dahlia die set (did I mention how amazing this new die is?) and the fabulous Kaisercraft “Cardmaker Thank you” rubons. Once the original card design layout was done, the rest of the project was just a repeat of the original. SO much fun and so pretty. I know my mom is going love it.

Of course, now I have to make another one for my sister!

Why don’t you give it a try too?

Wisteria papers are on our shelves now!

Enjoy ….. Marianne

product

Some of the ingredients are pictured, but, I also used:

Just Rite Special Occasion Deluxe Monogram Stamper for “MOM”

Cuttlebug A2 Swiss Dots embossing folder

Fiskars border punch Sunburst (although Lacy Days of Summer would work just as well)

a swirl stamp from Autumn Leaves Clear Stamps, Swirls V.1,

Nestabilities Scallop Circle Large and Standard Circle Large

Kaiser Craft Rubons “Thank you” (these are a must have for making greeting card sets)

Scor tape was used on most of the project and some Tombow Mono Aqua for the small embellishments.

The small brads are Basic Grey

Peggy’s Pretties (these are just the sweetest little drops of colour!)
