Cute Critters!

Today’s prompt for the Scrap ‘N Stamp daily challenge is ‘animals’, so I’m here to share some cute critters with you! It’s Deb here today, for the Design Team. I pulled out an older stamp & dies combo from MFT called Beach Bunnies, and combined it with the recent Picket Fence Studios Slimline Die Cutting System.

BEACH BUNNIES PEEK-A-BOO

It was fun to give these bunnies their own personalities and fur colour!

Cute Critters!

The fun part is that you can choose any colour, for any part of this card, to use! I went with blue for my cardstock, for a ‘blue sky’ kind of background.

CARD DETAILS

Create your card base of 7″ x 8 1/2″. Score and fold in half at 3 1/2″, and set aside. Next, use the PFS Slimline Die Cutting  System to die cut the top layer, and each circle.  I like the added touch of the stitching around the circle dies. Next, use the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border die to die cut 2 strips of grass, from a mid-green cardstock.

Stamp the bunnies, birds and heart in Nocturne ink onto white cardstock. Use your favourite markers to colour the images; I used a combination of Copic and Spectrum Noir, from my stash. Now, use the coordinating Beach Bunnies dies & die cut each image. Add some interest to the die cut grass by blending on some Mowed Lawn distress ink, with a blending tool.

Now, add 2 layers of the grass to the bottom of each circle, using glue or double sided tape. Next, add this layer to the card base, using foam tape or squares. Add foam tape or squares to the back of the die cut images, and then place the bunnies inside each circle. Allowing the bunnies to be partially outside of the circles adds more dimension. Finally, add the birds, heart and a few of the Brutus Monroe Acrylic Bubbles to the front.

Cute Critters!

I decided to add  a die cut sentiment to the front. Use your Big Shot with the MFT Sweet Hello die, and the Memory Box bright yellow glitter paper. This glitter paper is very stiff & sturdy, so you don’t have to layer it. Attach it with glue to the card front, and you’re done!

Day 25 Challenge – Animals

Hello and happy Monday, my friend! Deb here for the design team, sharing with you. Today the Scrap ‘N Stamp  day 25 challenge prompt is animals. I love animals, and you could easily tell if you ever looked through my stamp collection! The most difficult part was deciding which animals to include. If you’re not familiar with the Scrap ‘N Stamp challenge, it’s happening all month long, & everyone can participate. Each day there is a new prompt, or theme. Just create your project with the theme of the day, and share it on the challenge Facebook page HERE. Use the hashtag #SNSCHALLENGE. Everyone who shares a project is automatically entered to win a $50 Gift Certificate to Scrap ‘N Stamp!

DAY 25 – ANIMALS

I decided to use a set that hasn’t seen ink in a while. It’s called Beach Bunnies, by MFT. There’s also coordinating dies, to make life even easier.

Day 25 Challenge - Animals

Too cute, right?! And depending on where you live, you may have already ventured to a beach, just to feel the breeze.

CARD DETAILS

On a piece of smooth white cardstock, stamp the bunnies and bird images from the MFT Beach Bunnies set in Tuxedo Black ink. I also used the MFT Sweet Somebunny set for the flowers & butterfly images. Next, choose your favourite alcohol markers to colour. I use a combination of Copic and Spectrum Noir markers, because that’s what I have! Now, use the coordinating dies of both sets to die cut the image.

Take a blue panel of cardstock and a small circle die. Die cut 3 circles, placed as shown above. Next, use the MFT Winter Stencil Strips – dots pattern – and blend on Broken China distress oxide ink.  Now, attach the blue panel to a bright yellow card base, with foam tape. Stamp the sentiment from the Beach Bunnies stamp set onto a strip of white cardstock, and then attach it and all of the images to the card front.

Day 25 Challenge - Animals

All that dimension adds so much fun! I think this card would cheer up anyone who has had to ‘self isolate’ lately, due to health issues.

JOIN THE CHALLENGE!

I’m looking forward to see what you create for day 25 of the challenge! Which animals will you choose? Remember that you can still post from days already past, but please wait to post for future themes/prompts until that day arrives.

Have a Bright & Sunny Day!

HAVE A BRIGHT & SUNNY DAY!

Hello stamping friend! It’s Deb here, for the Scrap ‘N Stamp Design Team. I know that winter isn’t quite over yet, but we’re having beautiful sunshine & blue skies here in Vancouver! I thought I’d share some of this great weather, and hope that you have a bright & sunny day, too. The Beach Bunnies stamp set & dies from My Favorite Things are my choice for sharing today. Who can resist smiling at cute bunnies?

BEACH BUNNIES

I love creating happy little scenes with these types of sets. They have all the pieces you need, and using the matching dies makes everything come together so easily. I always recommend purchasing the dies at the same time as the stamp set. I used to fool myself, and think ‘oh, I can cut those out by hand’ – only to be sadly disappointed in ragged edges and snipped off bits. So – personal experience shared – buy the dies! 🙂

Have a Bright & Sunny Day!

Just look at those cuties, having fun – and ice cream!

CARD DETAILS

I decided to frame the beach scene, so I used my Hero Arts Nesting Rectangle Infinity Dies and some blue cardstock to create the frame.  Next, I made small pencil marks where the frame was to go, and then masked it off with my Thermo Web Purple Tape. This tape is great, because it won’t tear your cardstock when you remove it. I then used some Distress inks to blend in the sky with Tumbled Glass, and the sand in Gathered Twigs. That was the quickest part – next, you need to create the images.

On white cardstock, stamp each of the images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Use your favourite colouring medium; I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I kept the colours light & bright, because hey – beach weather! After colouring, use the matching Beach Bunnies dies to die cut each image.

Have a Bright & Sunny Day!

LAYER IT ALL TOGETHER

After you’ve done your colouring and die cutting, you’re ready to layer your scene together. Erase the light pencil marks, and attach your die cut frame to the white panel. Next, stamp the sentiment from the Beach Bunnies stamp set underneath the frame, in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Attach all of the die cut images with foam squares or tape, arranging the beach houses in the middle of the frame. The clouds of course go above, as well as the little bird.  Attach the ice cream to the hand of the little girl bunny, and attach both of the bunnies outside the frame, on either end of the sentiment.

Have a Bright & Sunny Day!

CREATE YOUR OWN BRIGHT & SUNNY DAY!

Are you ready to have a bright & sunny day? No matter what the weather outside is doing, you can create your own! I hope I’ve inspired you to have some fun, and make your own weather.
