Shaking it Up with Hot Cocoa!

Happy Friday crafty friends, today I’m here with a Christmas card using the THANKS A LATTE stamp set.

I just adore this stamp set from Lawn Fawn, it’s so versatile and today I wanted to show you a shaker card and non-traditional Christmas colors using this cute little stamp set. Also, with today being the start of the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, this set is perfect with all the different options you get for fall and winter!

Nothing says winter to me like hot cocoa and candy canes, so here’s my card for you today.

I started by creating a panel from Bristol Smooth paper and blending Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks.  I then splattered some White Gesso which  I watered down and splattered onto the panel. Once the panel was dry, I die cut the panel using the second largest MFT Rounded Banner Die.

I then stamped the Mug, scarf and cocoa element onto Design Paper from my stash and fussy cut them out. For the Candy Cane, I stamped the image onto Recollectons Glitter Silver cardstock and colored the stripes with a Red Sharpie and fussy cut it out as well. I  paper pieced and adhered all the images onto the background panel with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. I created the shaker portion by using two of the Rounded Banner Stax dies and die cutting it 6 times from cardstock and gluing them onto top of eachother, instead of using foam tape. I find by layering the diecuts out of cardstock, it creates a sturdier Shaker element. I adhered an acetate panel onto the top layer and glued one more diecut layer to hide the glue on the acetate. Once it was dry, I added Diamond Dust and light blue seed beads to create the shaker elements inside, as I thought it looked like snow. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink onto white cardstock, layered it onto the teal cardstock and slanted the one end with scissors. A snowflake and gem from my stash finished off the front of my card.

I used an Art Impressions sentiment  for the inside of the card that depicted warm wishes to tie in the cocoa and design elements from the front of my card.

I sure hope you enjoyed my warm and cozy shaker card today.

Happy Crafting!

~hugs~
