Birthday Card featuring Concord & 9th!!

Saturday, December 1st, 2018

Hello crafty friends and welcome back!!  Laurie with you today to share a birthday card!!  I really needed a break from Christmas card making and also wanted to showcase some  Concord & 9th goodies that are new to the shop!!

I used the Happy Day Stamp Set along with its c0-0rdinating dies to make this card. This isn’t a new set from C&9 but it is definitely worth a look if you don’t own it or a revisit if it happens to be in your stash!

I used my alcohol markers in shades of coral, green, tan and turquoise. I tried to go for a subtle look but sometimes have a hard time achieving that with my markers! The cake plate was actually paper pieced on a teal coloured paper.  I added a bit of shading to the edges with my markers and polka dots with my white gel pen.

Once I started with the white details, I couldn’t stop and added them everywhere!  The flowers also got a good coating of Clear Wink of Stella!!  The co-ordinating dies have the words “happy day” which I cut from the same patterned paper as the plate.  I cut the letters as well as the cake die from craft foam and adhered everything onto a white panel that was embossed with a folder from Taylored Expressions (unfortunately, this folder is not available :()

The panel was adhered to a white, top fold card base and I added a few clear sequins from my stash! This card was a little labour intensive, especially with the colouring but I really like how it turned out!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and I hope you will take a look around the shop at the new release section as it’s full of amazing goodies!

Thank you so much for dropping in today!! Have a great day and I’ll see you soon!

Blooms Fill-In with Laurie!!

Wednesday, October 17th, 2018

Good morning, friends and welcome back!! I’m here to share a thank you card made using the Blooms Fill-In Stamp Set along with its co-ordinating dies.  This set is new to me and all I can say is “I’m in love!!”.

This set is full of possibilities. It is, in one word, genius. And because of the style of florals, it can be used for any season!! Just change up the colours and voila, a spring, summer, fall or winter card!!

I’m not sure  what season my card would fit into as I used a dark colour to stamp the background. I used the Versafine Clair Ink in Morning Mist. Because this is a new and large stamp, I used my Misti and stamped it 3 times to get good coverage.  TIP: I think I actually put too much muscle into the stamping because I lost quite a bit of the foliage detail.

After I stamped the background, I used various inks to fill in the blooms :).  I took the coordinating die and cut each floral cluster out.

I wanted these bold clusters on a white background along with some dimension.  I placed all the images roughly in the same spots that they were on the stamp itself.  The actual stamp is slightly larger than an A2 card so they ended up being closer together. I adhered them all with foam adhesive.

I wanted this bold background to be the star of the show so I kept the sentiment very simple.  I stamped the “thanks” onto a fishtail banner and adhered it to the centre of the card.

To give the banner some dimension, I manipulated the card stock to give it a bit of a bend.  Then used Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive on the ends. This worked great!

For a little bit of a finishing touch, I used Nuvo Crystal Drops in a light shade of pink. This filled in some of the white space without being overly distracting.

I LOVE how this card turned out. Just imagine all the different looks you can get by just changing the colours!!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!! I hope you found a little inspiration here today!!

Until next time…stay crafty!!

Aloha Friend, You’re Fabulous!

Monday, August 27th, 2018

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! Today I’m sharing an encouragement card featuring Concord & 9th. I love this fun Aloha Friend stamp set and thought it would pair perfectly with gold.

I started by creating the card front and die cut an A2 sized stitched rectangle using green floral pattern paper. Next, I prepped white card stock with my anti static tool and heat set gold embossing powder using VersaMark Ink.

For the main images I stamped the flowers in purple and green ink. To finish off the card I added a sentient strip, 3D foam tape and coordinating sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
