Inspired by you

Hello all! Kia back with you today to share my card for day 25 of the Random Act of Cardness series. Today’s prompt word is “Flowers”.

I have used flowers by Honey Bee Stamps, which I stamped on vellum using Seedless Preserves distress ink. My background is done using a Paper Rose die to cut a piece which I used as a stencil, adding embossing ink, then heat embossing with Broken China distress ink.

When the heat embossing was finished I added distress ink in Seedless Preservcs around the edges of the heat embossed panel and attached it to my card base using foam tape.

I then inked up the centre die piece using the left over ink from my distress ink Seedless Preserves brush and attached the piece to the card using foam strips. To the back of the blooms I added vellum tape from my EZ runner.

To finish my card I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink, trimmed it and added to the card again using foam strips.

Thanks so much for joining me today. Following are Affiliate links for the products I used for this card, at no extra expense to you.

Warm Hugs

Hello all. Kia here with you today to share this Winter card.

The stamp is from Penny Black, and is called Conifer Wreath. Normally I would colour this type of stamp in my MISTI using Tombow Markers and spritzing with water, but today I wanted to use my Copic Markers for a change.

So to start I stamped using Ranger Archival ink in Sepia. The Archival ink line works wonderfully with Copic Markers.

I like to work on my Stay-tion when doing cards like this as I use the magnets to hold the card in place while I am colouring. There is nothing more annoying than having the card spin on me.

I proceeded to colour the greenery, first using Copic Marker Y02, then coming back in and adding YG17.

Moving on to the Pinecones I coloured using Y00, Y02, Y13, Y17, YR04, YR07 and E35, E37, E57. I like that touch of orange in there on a few of the Pinecones.

For the sentiment I die cut 2 pieces from 100lb cardstock, coloured them with Copic R17 and glued them together, colouring the edges as well and glued them to my card base with Nuvo Adhesive.

I then stamped a random “Warm” sentiment using Ranger Vermillion ink as I wanted to make a connection to the Winter.

I am happy that I kept it as a single layer tent fold card as there is a lot of fussy with the Conifer and the simple design works well with the Wreath.

Memories

Good Sunday morning all!

Kia here with you today and in keeping with our hop theme for November I would like to share this Poppy die card with you.

This die is very old, I think around 10 years. It is one of the first Memory Box dies that I bought, and in the past I used it all the time and will continue to use it in the future.

While this die is hard to find these days, Scrap’n Stamp has many newer Poppy dies and stamps in the store and they are 20% off, but just until the end of the day.

The background is stencilled using Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide inks. I styled the poppies and attached them to the panel using foam squares and glue.

As this sentiment is perfect for this card, I decided to go ahead and use it stamping with VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne. It is a Visible Image sentiment and you can find information about it on my blog.

I hope this card gives you some inspiration for your cards and using Poppies in your design.

Thank you for joining us today. Affiliate links to the products used today and the Scrap’n Stamp Poppy dies can be found below, at no extra cost to you.
