Seas the Day

Hello to you. Kia here with you today to share this fabulous stamp and die set by Colorado Craft Company, along with the background stencil by Gina K Designs. To get a bit of a different look for this card I first did smooshing using Neenah cardstock and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide along with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide inks.

Putting down the dry background piece on my work surface I added the stencil over the piece securing it in place. Using a domed foam blending tool along with Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide ink I pounced the tool up and down lightly to fill the card piece with ink, which created beautiful dimensions and further textures. While I had the tools out I also did a piece just using the stencil for the inside of my card.

In my mini Misti using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black I stamped the images, then proceeded to colour using Copic markers in the following colours: The Birds B000, B41, B26 and Y13, R17 on the beaks. The posts are done using E42, E47 and Y19 with C00 and C1 on the Starfish along with B26 dots.

Using the coordinating die, I die cut the pieces with my Gemini Jr. machine. I attached the background piece to my card front using Art Glitter glue, along with the piece I did for the card inside. On the inside piece I also stamped using the beautiful sentiment included in the set.

On the card front I attached the die cut piece using foam strips, including the extra Starfish. I then stamped the sentiment “Seas the Day” using VersaFine Clair ink in Blue Belle.

To finish with a bit of sparkle I added Pinkfresh gems in Ombre, being silver and blue gems, which are so pretty.

I hope you have enjoyed this card today, and look forward to seeing you next Friday.

Peony on Lattice

Hello all! Kia back with you today to share my final design using the beautiful Altenew Precious Peony set of stamps. This card I have named “Peony on Lattice”.

For today’s card I did some watercolouring using Daniel Smith watercolours in oranges, yellows, and various greens on Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper. My colours are Sap Green, Green Apatite, Serpentine Genuine, Transparent Pyrrol Orange, Organic Vermillion and Hansa Yellow.

The background lattice is also by Altenew and is called Linear Crossroads Die. I die cut two (2) of the lattice pieces using Spellbinders pop up die cutting foam, which holds its shape even when die cut, and glued both of the pieces to my Neenah card base using Art Glitter glue.

I then fussy cut the flower and attached it to the lattice frames with Art Glitter glue and a few foam squares, then added the Tim Holtz sentiment, which is attached to a piece of white card and glued on the left side with a pop up square on the right side.

To finish my card I added a few black Kaiser pearls.

I love the look of this card, and I hope you do as well. Thank you for joining us today.

Take 2 Precious Peony

Hello crafters. Kia here with a follow up of my card from last week using the Altenew Precious Peony Stamp set, which I cannot say enough, I just love, love, love!

Earlier this week I watched a video by Gina K Designs where she made a Double Gatefold card, and I wanted to use the design for this card today. I do love the look of the sweeping flowers which I coloured using Copic markers. When closed the layers match up, so one might think there is only one image, when there is acutally two! How fun!

The flowers are B02, B04, B06 and B06, B18, B99. For the leaves I used V01, V04, V06, V17 and BG15. The matting is done using Spellbinders Island View cardstock. My base is Neenah 110lb and the embossed layers are Hammermill 100lb. The lattice embossing is done using Spellbinders Bamboo Trellis embossing folder.

I used Tim Holtz sentiments for the Gatefold part of the card, and the inside sentiment says “Have a Beautiful Day”.

I hope you have enjoyed Take 2, and that you will give this fold card a try. If you do, remember to share it with us in the Facebook Scrap’n Stamp Challenge page. It is certainly fun to do. Thank you for visiting with Scrap’n Stamp today.

Have a Beautiful Day!
