Tuesday with Tara {take 371) Hey Pumpkin

I’m delighted to share a new card with MFT’s Autumn Blessings stamp & die sets.  I started reaching for one of my newer sets, but for the card design I had in mind this one was perfect, since it includes three different pumpkins!  You see, I made this card for a very special baby shower that took place last weekend and we are so excited to be looking forward to the arrival of our third grand baby!  The two larger pumpkins represent our 3 year old grand son and 5 week old grand daughter, together they are our perfect little pumpkin patch 🙂

So I kept things pretty simple, stamping in black and coloring with watercolor pencils (I can’t wait to get my hands on the new Distress ones, even though I have a very large collection already!).  I chose shades of teal and coral for my card and layered the pumpkins onto patterned paper with text print in dark green.   Since I embossed the sentiment in white, I chose to also add some subtle embossing of leaves from the set on the printed panel for a bit more texture.

I also finished off the pumpkins with a touch of glitter and popped up the middle pumpkin with some foam squares.   Here’s another look at my finished card- this one is totally different lighting as it was taken inside, ready to go tucked into the gift basket.Hope you like it!  This is a fantastic stamp set I know I’ll keep pulling out for years to come!   As a bonus too, the coordinating dies are on sale right now!  If there was ever a sign to get the dies too… this is it! 🙂

Inky hugs,

Tara

PSL Card Making Time

Break out the MFT Autumn Blessing stamps and a Pumpkin spice from Lawn Fawn and we’re making PSL Cards.  We are mixing things up a bit this month, Tara is on the move and packing up all her craft stash. So, I’m here with a   throwback card from a blog hop. I chose this one because it’s the same stamps she used in last weeks post.

Tara’s original post —-

I’m featuring Autumn Blessings by MFT once again!  I had a card idea in mind, but tweaked it a bit at the end and added some PSL vibes 😉 so I hope you like it!

Lawn Fawn & MFT latte card

I colored up the pumpkins from the MFT set and the Pumpkin Spice Latte stamp by Lawn Fawn with Distress Ink & water.   They were all stamped on water color card stock with Archival Ink.  I cut them out with the coordinating dies.  I decided afterwards that this would be a fun project for Distress Embossing Glaze, so I used Clear Embossing Pen to color in the mug and glazed it to give a nice shiny mug!  I used the glaze over Clear Embossing Ink on the sentiment, which I stamped directly on the Kraft card base.

I really wanted to pair these pumpkins with Buffalo Plaid, but my new stamp didn’t arrive in time (I’ll have some fun with it in the near future though!) so I found some patterned paper to use.  A touch of silk ribbon and some glitter (Distress Stickles are the perfect ‘spice’ here… they are discontinued, but still a fave of mine.  Buy some if you find them!) are the finishing touches for my fun FALL card!

I’m not gonna lie, autumn cards are my favorite and I love seeing the creative mix of cards by everyone this time of year.

Tuesday with Tara {take 337} Meow & You

Happy Tuesday!

Today I’m sharing a simple card I put together using one of the stenciled backgrounds I created a few weeks ago.  I used a combination of two stencils, a Window Panes design by MFT and a ‘nature’ design from Tim Holtz which I layered over it.  I worked with a few colors of Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool to get this subtle design.  Since this background didn’t work with my snowman card, I thought it would be sweet with the cats from this mini meows stamp set by MFT!

Since I had a background of full color, I stamped my images in simple black ink, just added a tiny bit of dimension with some Nuvo drops on the hearts.  I used the die cut stitched sentiment strips to add one of the cute sayings that is included with this stamp set.

It’s a super simple card, but it has some fun details that are sure to make the recipient smile 🙂 I added one more cat with another sentiment inside to carry on the theme… it should make a sweet, non traditional valentine for someone who loves cats!  Hope you like it too!

Inky hugs,

Tara
