Iconic Christmas Blog Hop

Happy Blog Hop Day!  Thanks for joining us for a fun, inspiration filled hop featuring Christmas Icons!  You’ll see trees, ornaments, candy canes, stockings, snowflakes, holly & more as you visit each blog and see projects created by our design team members!

Be sure to leave comments letting us know what you think at each stop along the way- your name will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate to spend in the SNS online store!  Speaking of the store, if you shop this weekend you’ll find an Iconic Christmas sale with 25% off selected stamps & dies!

The team is highlighting a fun Iconic Christmas die set by Concord & 9th for this hop, but since mine hasn’t arrived I’ve chosen to use some cute snowflake dies by Memory Box for my card.

I’m using my plaid background stamp again, stamped simply in black on some book print for some fun texture.  I added a bit of Distress Ink along the torn bottom edge, as well as through a wonky dot stencil, also by MFT.

These snowflake dies have some sweet stitching details on them, but the same card design would be fabulous with some added glitter instead… my photos didn’t capture it, but the sentiment is embossed with Rustic Wilderness Distress Embossing Glaze on a pearly white card stock.  It really has some nice shimmer!

The finishing touch is a simple bow, tied with ribbon I dyed with Rustic Wilderness Distress Spray Stain. (I did warn you that this was going to be my color of the season, didn’t I?)

Now that you’ve checked out my card, I hope you’re ready to see what the rest of the girls have been making!   Next up on the hop is Chala.

Tuesday with Tara {take 179}

Happy Tuesday!

For the first time since I moved south to North Carolina, we’ve had a snow storm in December (aka SNOWPOCALYPSE 2018)!  While most of the south shuts down with snow & ice like this, I’ve got to say that I’m kinda loving it and it is definitely helping to put me in the Christmas mood!  I’m so glad I saved this card to share with y’all today 🙂  I’ve been having fun with my Snowflakes Turnabout Stamp by Concord & 9th!  For this card, I decided to use the entire design on a 5.5″ square card, stamping in four different colors of Distress Oxide Ink.

I love the combination of brown & teal, especially on a snowy card.  I know brown snowflakes aren’t typical, but they work great with this stamp design mixed in with the other colors of Distress Oxide Inks on a kraft base.  For this card I used Cracked Pistachio, Broken China, Peacock Feathers & Vintage Photo.  I really loved how this background came out, so decided to keep most of it uncovered- adding just a few die cuts and some crinkle ribbon! I didn’t capture it well with photos, but there is some sparkle on that large snowflake and ‘believe’ is cut from pearly white card stock.  I added bits of Nuvo Glitter Drops (Aquatic Mist & Honey Gold) in the background for a bit of extra shine.

I’m a big fan of adding some subtle sparkle, but I’m currently working on pulling out ALL THE SPARKLE for our current challenge and upcoming blog hop- check back here on Friday afternoon for some sparkly seasonal inspiration!  Until then,

Inky hugs,

Tara
