Tombow Markers

Red Mittens

I have named this card Red Mittens. Kia here with you today to share Red Mittens, which is an older stamp by Penny Black. I am using another older stamp, also by Penny Black called Berry Bramble.

I decided for this card that I would use Tombow markers for my colour, using only 4 markers, which I have linked to below. Several years back I cut this set to separate the mittens, as I wanted to use them differently. When perusing Facebook today I saw a card by Michelin Jourdain, and loved how she hung the mittens, hence I did my version.

When I finished colouring the berries and the mittens I painted on Tumbled Glass oxide ink using a damp paint brush. I then fussy cut the left mitten, styled it and arranged on the card. In my Misti I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Blue Belle, with the joy done using VersaFine Clair Ink in Tulip.

I attached the piece to a Gina K Design Red Velvet card base, and added a bunch of splatters using Winsor Newton Gouache.

It was fun giving some love to my older stamps. I like to bring them out every now and then, and show them off. I do hope you have enjoyed this trip down memory lane.

SHE …

Hello all, Kia here with you today for Day 15 of the Random Act of Cardness Challenges. My challenge is on Brush Stroke Stamping. I realize on the list it only says Brush, I think they ran out of room. 🙂

We planned our challenges back in April, but as luck would have it Penny Black just put up the above Video on the subject, and she used the same stamp as I have. Fortunately we have used different colours and layouts.

I use a different technique than Jill does, and over on my blog I have gone into a lot of detail about how I do it. I also have a few more pictures of the progression of colours.

When I was done with my colouring, using the grid and magnets of my Stay-tion and a stencil, (tape can be used) I brushed on Buttercup Ink in opposite corners of my card front. I then stamped the “SHE” and heat embossed with gold embossing powder, then stamped the rest of the sentiment using VersaFine Clair Ink in Green Oasis.

To finish up I added Midas Touch Shimmering Pen to the Butterfly. I matted with Gold Mirror cardstock, then a Red Cherry Gina K Design card base. I then added a scattering of Crystal Dew Drops around the card.

I hope you enjoy this card today and wish to thank you for visiting us here at Scrap’n Stamp. A reminder when shopping in the Store to use my Discount Code 10KIA.

Penny Black Harmony

Hi crafting friends, Sandi MacIver here and I’m honored to share a new card idea with you today created with the New – Just arrived Penny Black Harmony stamp.

Scrap 'N Stamp Penny Black Harmony

It was LOVE at first sight with this stamp and I decided to watercolor it with my Tombow Markers.

I started by black heat embossing the image into a piece of watercolor paper.

Then I colored the image with my Tombow Markers. The Tombow Marker Dual Tip Markers are water-based and create fabulous watercolor images combined with a water brush pen. Just add some color and blend with the water brush – Yep, it’s that easy!….
TIP – do a small section at a time though, so the ink doesn’t dry out, then it becomes hard to move.

The colors I chose are #379, #403, #291 From THIS SET of 9, and Chocolate Brown #969 to do the shadows and leaves.

Here’s a video showing how I like to watercolor with these fabulous markers….it’s super easy. You can view it here, or in HD over on my my YOUTUBE Channel .

The video also walks you step by step through the creation of today’s card.

Next I used two dies from the Taylored Expressions Stitched Square Stacklets to create a frame for my pretty flowers.

I white heat embossed a sentiment on a scrap of black card stock and then created a watercolor background with my Gansai Tambi watercolors #47 – brown and #57 Teal Blue.

Finally, after putting the card together, I added a few drops the NEW Nuvo Stone Drops in Gold Rush – you are so going to love this color for your vintage cards….it Rocks!

Ok, that’s it for me today. I hope you enjoyed my Penny Black Harmony Card and I have listed the products I used today below in affiliate links directly to the Scrap ‘N Stamp site.
