Serene Winter

Hello to you all today, Kia here to share my card for the Random Act of Cardness challenge.

I have used Penny Black’s Quietude stamp, along with the Winter Chill sentiment stamp set. I am using Arches Cold Press watercolour paper as I am adding water to this card. My base card is Neenah Solar White.

To start my card I first applied Distress Oxide Ink in Peacock Feathers over the entire stamp. With my finger I rubbed off the colour on the grasses. I did several passes this way until I was happy with the look.

I then added the VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne, using the same method. I did not stamp below the water line to the beach as I wanted that area to have snow.

On my work surface I put down the Peacock Feather ink, and spritzed with a bit of water. I then used the ink well the same as I would use my watercolour paints, picking up the ink with a brush and applying to the card. As I used the VersaFine Ink for the birds and grasses I did not have to worry about painting over them.

For the snow I am using Dr. Ph. Martin’s Bleedproof White watercolour, adding my brush to the paint and painting as I normally do. When I was almost finished I decided there should be a Sun, but I did not want to add another colour, so I kept the Sun in the white Bleedproof paint. Some will think it is a Moon, and some the Sun.

To finish up I attached my panel to my white card base and adding splatters in different sizes. I then stamped the sentiment using the Nocturne Ink and added Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew to some of the snow drops.

Thank you for stopping by today.
