Tuesday Tutorial – Snowfall (waterfall) Christmas Card

w21

Welcome to Another edition of our Tuesday Tutorials, Today I will be showing you how to make this awesome Christmas Snowfall card, also known in the cardmaking world as a waterfall card

Lets get started!

w3

Card Base: 5 1/2″  x 81/2″
Front Layer: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
Front Horizontal Strip: 1″ x 4 1/8″
Vertical Strip: 9″ x 2″
Squares (bottom layer): 2″ x 2″
Squares (top Layer): 1. 7/8″ x 1 7/8″ Use Core’Dinations Cardstock for these

1.  Emboss your ‘top layer’ squares using CuttleBug’s Winter Jelly Embossing folder set.

Attach your embossed squares to the slightly larger colored cardstock squares with your adhesive.

2. Next you will need to score your 9″ x 2″ strip of colored cardstock. Starting at one end of the strip, score 2″, 2¾”, 3 ½”, and 4 ¼” from the end.  Fold along the scored lines and you should have a strip which looks something like the above picture.

3. Attach your 9″ x 2″ scored piece to the horizontal strip you just attached to the card front. To do this, apply a small amount of adhesive to the short side of your strip and attach it to the back of your horizontal strip.  Fold your paper in half along the last score line (picture below shows folded strip)

w8

Attach the horizontal strip to front of card with brads.  It is very important that you don’t use any adhesive on this piece!

w11

Attach your first embossed image along the bottom most score line ensuring that you apply your adhesive (and embossed image) just below your score line.

w12

Repeat this step for your next three 2″ squares but using the ‘other’ score lines.

w13

Once you’ve attached all of your 2″ squares, you will be able to gently pull the bottom of the 9″ x 2″ strip and the embossed images will flip creating your ‘waterfall’ look.
