FEELING SASSY?

Hi Friends!

It’s Susan here today with 3 fun and sassy Christmas cards to share with you. And they are all easy to make which when it comes to Christmas cards I think that’s important especially if you have a lot to send out. Sometimes though it’s fun to send cards that have a little sass to them.

For my first card I used the girl from MFT’s You Shine and cut her out with the coordinating die. I colored her in with some Prismacolor pencil crayons and then layered her onto some craft foam that I had cut out with the die. Before I added her to the panel I blended on some Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink to provide a glow in the background. I also used a clear sparkle pen to add some sparkle to the lights.

The sentiment is from the Sassy Pants Holiday Stamp Set from MFT and I’ve decided for those that find it offensive it means You’re Festive as Figgy pudding and those of you that are fine with it – cheers!

This next card is probably my favorite card that I’ve made in a while. I stamped the sentiment from the same Sassy Pants Holiday Stamp Set all over the panel. If you’re new to slimline cards here are the measurements. Take an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock and cut it at 7″ on the long side then score it at 3 1/2″ – this is your card base. The left over piece you can cut to 3 1/4 x 8 1/4″ to make your panel. I cut my panel on this card to 3 3/8 x 8 3/8″.

I used the Tonic Studios Gin Glass Die to make a wine glass. I’ve done it before and did a little video showing how I did it. You can see that video HERE. I added some craft foam behind the glasses and added them to the panel. To set the sentiment apart from the background I heat embossed it in white onto black card stock. The little bits of fun stamped in between the words and the holly on the glasses are from an older MFT set called Santas Elves. I used a clear sparkle pen on the wine to make it shine – it looks better in person.

My last card was the easiest one to make. I couldn’t decide on which sentiment to use so I used as many as I could fit on the panel.

The stamp set is Hero Arts Snarky Christmas and it’s loaded with snarky sentiments. I filled up the panel with them and in the gaps I stamped a couple of smaller images from MFT’s Santa’s Elves stamp set. I colored them in with some pencil crayons and gave the ornament a little shine with the clear sparkle pen.

I had an absolute blast making these cards and I know exactly who I’ll be sending them to as well. I may need to make a few more.
