Fa La La La Latte

Hi Everyone. Are you ready for Christmas yet? I still have a few things left to do – groceries, a little baking and wrapping presents but for once I’m not doing everything at the last minute. It’s Susan with a clean and simple and more importantly, fun Christmas card that I made with non-Christmas stamps.

The idea for this card came from someone at work. They were singing Christmas carols and when they sang Fa la la la la someone sang out latte and the idea for this card was born.

I used the girl and the hat from Concord & 9th’s Winter Wear Stamp Set and stamped them with Versafine Nocturne ink onto a panel of white card stock that I had cut with the Stitched Stackable Rectangle Dies from Lawn Fawn. I stamped the mug in the Coffee Understands Stamp Set from Picket Fence Studios using the same ink and then cut it out with the coordinating die.

I used my copics to color in the images. Using Versafine Nocturne ink was not the best choice to use with copics – they smudged in a few places so I had to be very careful. I don’t have the colors for skin – yet – so I left it uncolored except for a couple of spots on her cheeks. I used a white Posca paint pen to add the dots to the mug.

I used a fine black sharpie to write the sentiment, draw some holly and berries and colored them in with my copics.

I layered the panel onto a white card base with craft foam and this card is done.

Time for me to make a cup of chai and do some gift wrapping.

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas with family and friends.

Happy Stamping

and thanks so much for visiting!
