distress oxide ink

Thanking you

I am back with you today to share this thank you card I made using Honey Bee Stamps and dies along with Copic colouring.

I began by stamping in my mini Misti the pieces that I wanted to use for my card, being the flowers, leaves, one of the birds and the birdhouse. I began the colouring with the flowers, using R59, R29, R27, R35 and R43; then the Leaves using YG17, YG25, YG03; followed by the Bird using BG07, BG05, BG02, BG01, BG000 and finally the Birdhouse using E57, E37, YR27, E99.

When I finished the colouring I then die cut the pieces using the coordinating dies. For the card backgound I stenciled clouds using Tumbled Glass distress oxide ink. I then arranged and attached the flowers and leaves followed by the bird and birdhouse, using foam squares to attach, and in a few instances Nuvo adhesive.

Moving on to the inside of the card I again did the stencil clouds, followed by adding the branch and flower at the top of the page, with the sentiment done in the middle, stamped using both Memento Ink in Rhubarb Stalk and Tuxedo Black.

I hope you have enjoyed this card, and I thank you for visiting us today. Following are Affiliate links for the products that I used today, at no extra cost to you.

Rainbow Wishes

Hello all! Kia here with you today to share this card for the Random Act of Cardness “Rainbows”. Lately I have become addicted to Honey Bee stamps and dies, and this set is one of those sets I just had to have.

Below I will attach a list of the stamps and dies that I used for this project, as there are quite a few. The first thing I did was die cut the Rainbow Builder A2 card, then proceeded to stamp the pieces from the Rainbow Dreams set, where I used colours of the rainbow distress inks.

I then die cut the balance of the pieces, being the 2 piece sun set, the “Rainbow” sentiment along with the line sentiment and the clouds.

I used Copic markers on the suns rays, and on the top piece of the sun I used Squeezed Lemonade distress ink. I then attached the sun along with the Rainbow to my card base gluing them in place with Nuvo adhesive. I left the Rainbow in the thickness of the Hammermill cardstock, as it adds dimension to the card.

In my Misti I stamped the “Rainbow” and the sentiment sentence using VersaFine Clair ink in Tulip, and in Nocturne. For the clouds I brushed on distress oxide ink in Tumbled Glass, and attached the clouds to the card using foam strips.

I then added the sentiment pieces, again using foam strips. For the finishing I die cut the stars from white card and glued them to the card base using Nuvo adhesive.

I added Nuvo Midas Touch to the Stars, and Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen to the Clouds for a bit of sparkle. I wish it would show up better as it is very pretty.

Tuesday with Tara {take 345} Blessed & Bling

Happy Tuesday!  My inspiration for today’s card is the word for Day 30 on our Facebook Challenge group– Bling! I’m trying to slip creatively into spring mode, so I played with a few shades of Distress Oxide Ink for a fun splattered background with ink blending.  I then die cut some assorted sizes of the Tim Holtz Stacked Hexagons and played around with a layout for them on a mini slim (3.5×6″) panel I had cut out.

For the BLING- I used a glittery die cut word ‘blessed’ that I had leftover from one of my cards from earlier this month.  I wanted to use some tiny paper flowers I had, some of which have glittery petals, so I added some gold to their centers to tie it all together.  I trimmed white pearly card stock to layer onto my card base and finished everything off with some gold toned bling!  I know at a glance this is not a seriously blingy card, but trust me- the elements are all there 🙂

I love the soft looks you get ink blending with Distress Oxide Inks, even using vibrant colors!  It’s perfect for spring and all those little speckles have me craving Robin’s Eggs Candy!  Yum…

Hope you like my simple, blingy card!

Inky hugs,

Tara
