Tuesday with Tara (take 428) Sending You Love

Happy Tuesday, friends!  This card was inspired by all the pretty new Prism Studio papers- there’s a gorgeous range of Whole Spectrum Foil Cardstock  and Whole Spectrum Glitter Cardstock.
Today I chose to showcase a trio of hearts in RUBY.  Isn’t it pretty!?  I’ve also used the Brushed Gold Foil for the die cut “love” sentiment.  I kept this card really simple, cutting 3 hearts the same size from one of the Prism Nesting Hearts dies.  I chose to let the glittery heart be the central one, though it could have gone either way!  I had a 2″ strip of Patterned Paper (from the vintage letters 6×6 pad by IO) and mounted it to the lower portion of an A2 Kraft Card.  I mounted my trio of hearts from the outside in, giving the glittery heart a 3D boost with some foam squares.
The sentiment features stamps & dies from Honey Bee’s ‘Bitty Buzzwords’ set.  I added some foam squares to the edges of the sentiment strip as well so it was level over the central glitter heart.

And here’s another photo so you can get a better look at all that shine!   I know it’s simple, but isn’t it pretty, too!?  It feels like a very classic Valentine to me!  I hope you like it too.

Inky hugs,

Tara

Tuesday with Tara {take 397} Vitamin Sea

Happy Tuesday!

I’m definitely feeling the beach vibes with today’s cards, which I demonstrated on Facebook Live Saturday!  We got creative with Distress Paints and made some abstract masterpieces!

Both cards feature Distress Paints together with sentiments from the Honey Bee Seas the Day stamp set.  For the sunset card, we added a fun stenciling element with White Distress Paint over this ‘making waves’ stencil by Vicki Boutin.

Extra texture was added to the ocean waves card by starting with some Dina Wakley MEdia Collage paper (applied with Matte Medium) on our Kraft card base.   The white caps were done with texture paste and a palette knife- I used a fancy one with mica flakes mixed in, but you could definitely do that part yourself for a similar effect!

You can see me create these cards (or parts of them/similar cards) at this link on Facebook.  I had technical difficulties with my tripod… but I think it’s still worth a watch!

Wishing you a very happy Tuesday!

Inky hugs,

Tara

Sending Sunshine card with Honey Bee Stamps

Hello all, Kia here creating a card with Honey Bee stamps today to introduce you to “Sunshine Thoughts”. This is a thank you card, the sentiment is stamped on the on the inside of the card

First, the front of my card. I am using Tim Holtz Distress inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed and Tumbled Glass for this card.  To start I masked off some rays with removable tape  the left side of a white piece of card stock.  Next I blended over it with the Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed alternating between the two colours. I then die cut the sun, clouds and hearts from white card using  the Rainbow Dreams Honey bee die set.

To the sun add Squeezed Lemonade. The top of the clouds was done using Tumbled Glass, and the hearts were done using first the Squeezed Lemonade, then blended the Tumbled Glass, creating the green. Did you know that green hearts represent gratitude?

On one of the clouds I stamped the sentiment “Sending Sunshine” using distress ink in Mustard Seed. I then stamped the “and” int the same colour below where the cloud would be and attached the green hearts below that using Nuvo adhesive.

I arranged the sun and clouds then attached them using varying layers of foam squares to create depth. Next step is to the middle green heart I added a crystal gem. Then attached them to a coordinating yellow mat leaving an 1/8′ boarder and mounted it  on a pre-folded A2 white card.

On the inside of the card the sentiment is from the Bitty Buzzword stamps and dies from Honey Bee, echoing to the colours from the front.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you enjoy today’s card, Sunshine Thoughts featuring Honey Bee Stamps. Following are links for the products which can be found in the Scrap’n Stamp store.
