We’re hoppin’ with a little Lavinia Magic

Fall is here and  we couldn’t resist using Lavinia for our September Card Hop.  With the harvest moon is about to rise and the leaves will start to dance, there is magic in the air and who says magic better then Lavinia.

Lavinia Magic Card

For the hop we are sharing a throwback  from Deb.

Lavinia stamps, seasonal tree, moon, layering moon, fall

If you haven’t seen this Tim Holtz Moon Mask set yet, you really have to check it out! You get 3 masks and 3 stencils, in 3 different sizes.  I chose the middle size moon. First, place the mask onto your white cardstock, and then blend Fossilized Amber around the edges. Leaving the mask in place, next blend Dusty Concord, then Chipped Sapphire, and finally Black Soot distress oxide inks. Now, remove the mask, and blend Spiced Marmalade distress ink to fill in the moon. Next place the moon stencil, and use the Black Soot distress oxide to stencil in the craters of the moon.

After completing the moon, remove the stencil, and then stamp the Lavinia Stamps Seasonal Tree in Nocturne ink.  Then blend a bit more Black Soot around the bottom, so that the tree doesn’t look like it’s floating. I didn’t have a suitable spooky sentiment, so I didn’t add one. But if you do, to the left of the tree at the bottom is the perfect spot!

Now, layer your image panel onto a piece of dark yellow cardstock with foam tape, and then glue it onto an orange card base. If you want to see more Lavinia cards from Deb click here:  Lavinia from Deb

Christmas in July Inspirational Card Hop

Welcome to our annual Christmas in July Inspirational Card Hop! The design team has created amazing cards to inspire those of you who like to get a head start on your Christmas cards.

We’re starting off here with a throw back from Tara to our Christmas Critters Hop.

I’m featuring the adorable Christmas hats stamp by Anita Jeram, I chose the cat & mouse for this card and paired it with some greenery with an ornament (made with Tim Holtz’s Circle Words dies) hanging from it.   I tried to color the cat to look like ours, though my color is a bit off… and I’m sure she wouldn’t be smiling if I had her wearing a toque!  LOL
I cut the base layers with new Prism Studio Stitched Rectangles.  These are the two largest sizes and they are perfect for slim layers on an A2 card!  They cut really nicely and are an excellent price.  I think there are 10 dies in the set!
I cut the ornament from beautiful Ruby fine glitter cardstock by Prism Studio and layered it over a small stitched circle, in a deeper red which I also sprayed with some gold mica spray for extra shine.  The branches are from two different die sets in two shades of green, both inked with some brown for a bit of depth.  A few blingy red “berries” add a festive touch!

Make sure to leave a comment here and as you hop along for your chance to WIN a $50 Gift Certificate. Next stop on the hop is Meghan:
