Tuesday with Tara {take 442} “Aall” the thanks!

Happy Tuesday!

Today’s card is a little something different for me, I’ve made it with my colorful take on “La Dolce Vita” by Aall & Create!

I stamped & colored the images on white card stock, using Distress Watercolor Pencil Crayons for some fun colors that would match the background I’d made previously (similar to the one I used on this card, except I added some Sparkle Texture Paste stenciled, this one is by Altenew, over it)

I cut my main image & a solid, pearly layer slightly larger from Hero Arts Pointed Arches Nesting Dies.  Since it was straight at the bottom, I stamped some grass along the bottom edge.  They are a fun change from the typical rectangles or circles I tend to default to using!  I trimmed the birds loosely and added them with 3D foam squares, then finished the card using one of the sentiments I demonstrated the enamel technique with on my Facebook Live last week- love how shiny it is!  Finally, I added a scattering of the spring floral mix-ups.  They are super pretty and match so well with this card, I couldn’t resist!

Hope this bit of whimsy makes you smile!

Inky hugs,

Tara

Tuesday with Tara {take 436} Spring Hares

Happy Tuesday!

I’m celebrating the beginning of spring and Easter is just around the corner… so I wanted to share a card with the adorable ‘Wild Hares‘ set by Lavinia Stamps.  It includes three different small hare silhouettes.  I had in mind to create a scene, but realized I may have to add more Lavinia stamps to my collection first!

I had the idea to do something on a soft, pastel background- which I created with a few colors of Distress Oxide Spray Stains!  I’ve used Cracked Pistachio, Speckled Egg & Saltwater Taffy together, with a bit of Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide stenciled over them.  I sized up the stamps against the Pointed Arch nesting dies by Hero Arts, finding the perfect size to create a banner across a slimline card.

I cut to ‘pendants’ from each different color blend on my background, then stamped a hare on one of each color in Nocturne Versafine Clair Ink for a bold black silhouette.  I embossed on a white background (in two steps since the panel was longer than my embossing folder) and then finished the card off with a variety of embellishments from the Spring Florals Mix Ups set.  It’s super pretty and includes these sweet little blossoms in addition to some pretty gems & sequin bits.

I find slimline cards to be a bit of a struggle to photograph, so I decided to grab some spring decorations for my little photo shoot for this card.  I hope it captures all the whimsy!

Inky hugs,

Tara

Tuesday with Tara {take 433} Each Day’s Gifts

Happy Tuesday!

Today’s card features the same Altenew stencil as I used on my card from last week, paired with stamped images by Altenew on this tag I made a while ago.  I had just been waiting for the right card background for it.

The stamped image & sentiment are from Altenew’s Bloom with Grace stamp set (plus I used the coordinating die for the image).  I had the tag background pre-inked & cut and added some details to it with a stencil and some strips of patterned paper to match my image (which I colored with Distress Watercolor Pencils).  Both the tag & pierced detail dies are by Paper Rose (though neither is in stock right now).  They have some really lovely designs for reasonable prices!

The Kraft card background features the same Altenew stencil I used on my card last week.  I love how the leaves have an abstract look on this card.

I added crinkle ribbon and a few sequins as the finishing touches!

Make a note on your calendar to join us back here on Friday (and all weekend long) for our March Inspiration Hop!  Can’t wait to see you there!

Inky hugs,

Tara
