Tuesday with Tara {take 385} Love is Brewing

Happy Tuesday!  I’m sharing a twist on a throwback card today… You may have seen this card before, but it’s never been shared here on the SNS Blog!  LOL.

I’ve used the Coffee House stamps by Anita Jeram together with Storyteller paper pad by Vicki Boutin.  I also pulled out my copic markers for the first time in a long time and there are smudges everywhere as evidence.  If you can just squint past the smudges, I hope you’ll like it!

These little mice (and this whole stamp set- which is full of cuteness you’re definitely going to see more of…) just make me smile, and are definitely relatable.  I feel this way about that first cup of coffee in the morning or about meeting up with a friend for a cup of chai.

Once again, sorry about the smudges- some weeks it’s a struggle just finding time to make anything and RE-making it was definitely not an option.  LOL. I think they are cute enough to compensate!

Inky hugs!

Tuesday with Tara {take 353} A Dream is a Wish

Happy Tuesday!  Something about the soft color palette and shimmery touches gives this card a dreamy feeling…

I used a few alternate (aka leftover) pieces from previous cards- the flowers were some I made when I did this card and the butterflies were part of my inky play session when I first got my hands on the Saltwater Taffy Distress Ink!  The multicolored background layer was just some fun color blending, and the cut out is a combination of the taffy ink with a shimmery coat of bronze mica spray.  So pretty!

I’ve used the cutout letters from one of the bold text dies to spell WISH, and layered a chit chat sticker over it.  They’re kinda perfect together!  I inked the sticker with Saltwater Taffy regular distress ink before adding it to my card, which I think really pops layered over the patterned paper by Vicki Boutin which was cut with one of my slimline stackable dies.

I finished off the card with a touch of Nuvo glitter glaze to add to the shimmer.  I just love the springy vibes this card has and it definitely seems to me like it would bring a smile to it’s recipient…and hopefully to you!

Inky hugs,

Tara

Tuesday with Tara {take 351} painted birds

Happy Tuesday, friends!

I used some of the leftover painted birds from my art journal page for the inspiration hop (which there is still plenty of time to participate in!  See all the details & start here) as my starting point for this card, since I was going with paint as my inspiration word!  I found this pretty daisy paper in a 6×8″ paper pad by Vicki Boutin and selected the rest of my color palette from there.

I decided to add texture with a layer of corrugated Cardstock on my card base, but since the color wasn’t quite right I added more paint- covering up most of it with Speckled Egg Distress Paint.  I left a rough edge with dryer brushtrokes to add dimension and then splattered Cheddar & White gloss sprays across it.

The floral tiles are cut from Tim Holtz’s stacked hexagons, which I placed staggered across the panel.  As finishing touches, I added some more yellow with twine to hang a word charm and a die cut word by Honeybee.

The birds were cut from a card stock panel I painted with a mix of lemon & cheddar Dina Wakley paints.

Hope you like it!

Inky (painty) hugs,

Tara
