Back to my card for today. For this Side Folded card I decided I would go back to my roots of card making, where I once did this style a lot. It is time consuming, but so worth the effort.
Using Colorado Craft Company Birthday Wishing I stamped on Hammermill cardstock using VersaFine Clair ink in Pinecone and proceeded to colour with Copic markers. I used E57, E43 and E41, in that order doing 3 layers of each. For the balloon I used R32, R21 and R02 with 2 layers. On the Bunny’s cheeks I used R20.
I made my card base using Kraft cardstock as follows. Using a 4.25 x 11 inch piece of card, I scored at 4.25, then at 5.5 inches.
Once scored I folded at the 5.5 inch score line as I normally would, but glued together the 1.25 inches of the side fold, which leaves a 4.25 square working space. So cute.
For my card I decided to decorate with designer papers. These papers are by Mintay called Bird Song. They are old-ish, so not easy to find, but I thought they would work perfectly for this design.
Once I was finished colouring the bunny stamped on the Hammermill paper I fussy cut the bunny out, ignoring everything except the actual bunny and the balloon.
I then stamped the image on my card front and added colour as I did on the main piece. I styled the fussy cut pieces and attached to the card front using foam squares and finished by adding ribbon to the side fold along with a scattering of sequins.
The inside is also finished with the coordinating papers, and I stamped the sentiment from the set using VersaFine Clair ink in Warm Breeze.
I hope you will give this technique a try and share them with us on our Facebook Challenge page.
