JUST ARRIVED: Tim Holtz Vagabond Die Cutting and Embossing Machine
We just received our first shipment of the new Tim Holtz Vagabond machine that he designed for Sizzix and it is so cool! It looks just like an old fashioned suitcase when it is all closed up and they even give you stickers for the outside that look like vintage travel decals – very neat.
But this machine does a lot more than just look good – it’s a powerful electric die cutting and embossing machine that can do everything that the Big Shot does with just the push of a button. And it handles a wide range of materials effortlessly.

There are a few features that we wanted to point out to you that we thought were really important…
– you can use all your favorite dies and embossing folders with this machine like those from Sizzix, Cuttlebug, BossKut, Spellbinders, Crafts Too, Joy Crafts and Quickutz.
– for the thin dies like Spellbinders, Joy Crafts and BossKut you will need to buy a Sizzix Big Shot Extended Adapter. All the other pads and plates are included.
– you can run things through the machine in either direction just by flipping a switch on top.
– side rails hold the platform and plates in place so your sandwiches stay lined up.
– the power cord stores in it’s own compartment on the side of the machine so it is always handy.
– it’s quiet so you don’t have to worry about waking everyone up when you are crafting in the middle of the night. LOL!

We have been putting one through it’s paces and just love it! It has lots of power and if you do lots of die cutting and embossing or have trouble using the other machines because of arthritis (or in my case a recently broken wrist) then this is just the ticket. We all liked how it took up less space when it was folded up and that it looks like a part of the decor. It’s a bit heavier than the Big Shot (around 15 lbs) but still portable if you want to take it to a friends house or a crop.
All in all, the Vagabond got top marks from everyone here that used it. Another great product in the Tim Holtz line from Sizzix.
