Hi Everyone! This is Susan with a fun Christmas card to share with you. When I was trying to figure out what I wanted to make I was playing with my puppy and it came to me. I wanted a card where the dogs were the ones wishing you a Merry Christmas and what better stamps for that than Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs stamps and dies. They are adorable!
I wanted a clean and simple card AND I wanted to create a winter scene. So to accomplish this (sort of) I kept most of the card white for the ‘clean and simple’ part of the card and bonus, this also helps to create the winter scene.
I stamped all the dogs, hats and the candy cane with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and cut the dogs out with the coordinating dies and fussy cut the rest. I used Carmine Red and Wine Red Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color in the hats and the candy cane. I used Deep Green for the collars and Black for their noses.
I blended Lawn Fawn’s Mermaid and Peacock ink onto a card panel that I cut with Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Rectangle die and then stamped the sentiment from also from Tim Holtz, with Nocturne ink. The trees are from a set that’s no longer available – sorry – and the snow banks are from Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Hillside Borders. The two snow banks in the front are adhered together, the third one in behind is adhered directly to the panel and then the two together are adhered to the panel with craft foam.
I then added the dogs with their hats and candy cane to the snow banks and then tucked the trees in behind.
A little bit of falling snow from a white gel pen and that’s it. This was fun! I think I’ll do one with Tim Holtz Crazy Cats stamps and dies next.
