Scrap ‘n Stamp Festive Open House – #7

Are you ready for another Make ‘n Take?

Well, we have another cutie to share with you. It’s a Christmas stocking that you can use as a Gift Card holder or an ornament.

It’s super easy to put together and can be embellished in so many ways that I know you are going to want to make a few for your Christmas tree or to give to your friends and family. So…we are offering the pattern for FREE to anyone that emails me before midnight on November 22nd (PST). All you need to do is email me using this form and put FREE STOCKING PATTERN in the subject line and I will send you a PDF (within 48 hours) that you can print and use to make lots of these holiday cuties. How cool is that?

These little stockings could hold candy canes, chocolates, doggie treats, movie passes – the list is endless. The finished stocking opening is about 3 inches wide and  it’s about 5 inches to the heel so you could fit anything that was small and not too thick into it.

And don’t forget that everyone that places an online order today will receive one of these all pre-cut and ready to go in their package as a Festive Open House bonus.

Now, let me show you how to put the stocking together:

Step 1: Here are all the pieces that you need for each stocking. I found it was best to lay them all out so that I had the right sides of the embossing showing and the heel and toe pieces going the right way.

Step 2: Once you have them all laid out glue the heel and toe pieces to the colored stocking base.

Step 3: On the inside of one of the stocking pieces put a thin line of glue around the outer edge.

And then place the other stocking piece on top and press all along the edges so that they stick firmly together. Now your stocking will look like this….

Step 4:Run a line of glue along the top of the stocking on one side and then adhere one of the cuff pieces making sure that you overlap onto the top of the stocking at least 1/2 inch.

Turn this over and run a line of glue along the top and up the sides of the cuff and then place the second cuff on top making sure you line everything up.

Punch a hole on one side and thread ribbon or cording through and your ornament is almost finished. Each package includes a little tag for the front so you can write a name on it and embellish it with die cuts or bling like we did on this one. All that’s left is to slip in a gift card or other goodie and hang it on the tree.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here and I can almost hear you singing Frosty the Snowman or is that Jingle Bells?

Coming up next I am going to share another… Wait a minute! I can’t tell you that. It would be like opening your presents before Christmas. Good thing I stopped myself before I spoiled the surprise. LOL!

  1. My favorite die in the Christmas collection is the Cheery Lynn die ‘Christmas Ball with Angel Wing’. Your stocking is a fabulous idea and I love that it doesn’t look too difficult to make! Thank you for the chance to win!
