Scrap ‘n Stamp Festive Open House – #9

I love making ornaments to put on our Christmas tree so I thought I would show you some of the ones that I made using paper rosetttes. Rosettes are all the rage right now and they are so easy to make. And just like snowflakes, everyone could look different just by changing the paper, cardstock or embellishments that you use. I used two 12 inch strips of paper that I scored at 1/4″ intervals and  then accordian folded for each rosette. The large ones were made with strips that were 2 inches wide and the smaller ones were made with 1 1/2 inch strips. This first rosette was the perfect size for the snowflake that I cut from Spellbinders Shapeabilities Pendant Snowflake S4-286.

I got a little bit fancier with this one and used a border punch along one side before scoring and folding the smaller rosette. I think it adds a nice touch, don’t you? Then I mounted it onto a larger rosette and added a simple snowflake in the middle.

This last rosette has a punched edge too but I attached it to a scalloped circle that I die cut from cardstock. Very simple to do and this one would be perfect for a gift tag because you could write on the back of the scalloped circle. In fact any of these could easily be adapted that way just by adding a solid piece to the back to write on. Hmmmm. I guess I’m going to have to make some more because I’m liking this whole rosette gift tag idea. LOL!

There’s one more Festive Open House post to come and you won’t want to miss it because I will be showing you a really cool technique that we are demonstrating in the store. It’s going to get you thinking about glitter in a whole new way!
