Designer Showcase: 3D Prints – No Scissors Required!

Today I thought I would share with you some cards that I made with one of the 3D printed sheets that we carry.

They are so easy to use and the thing I like the most about them is that everything is precut. No scissors required. All you have to do is pop them out , layer them with foam dots in the number sequence that is shown on the sheet and you are ready to go.

For this set of cards I used SNS5032 – Purple & White Flowers. Before I started assembling anything I die cut all three of the background pieces with the Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles Nestabilities. Then I just popped out the pieces and layered them in sequence. Thin foam dots or squares work best for layering as the thicker ones make the flowers stand up too high. You may also need to cut the foam even smaller for the little tiny pieces.

Here’s a close up of one of the flowers so that you can see all the layers.

To keep things really simple all the cards were made with the 80lb white textured cardstock as the base and then I chose some matching cardstock from the DCWV Stacks – some pastels, metallics and shimmers. I love these stacks! The 4 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ size is perfect for cardmaking and you don’t end up with a lot of leftovers. I don’t know about you but the last thing I need are more little pieces of cardstock and patterned paper to go with all the other little bits that I keep saying I’m going to use. LOL!

A variety of Spellbinders dies and Cuttlebug embossing folders made it easy to cut and emboss the layers for each card. A few pearls, some ribbon and some Studio K Droplets were the only finishing touches. Of course you could add more embellishments, use patterned papers or add glitter to the flowers for an entirely different look. There’s no limit to what you can do with these great 3D prints so be sure to check out the full selection.

Here are individual pictures of the cards and a list of the items I used for each one in addition to the basic cardstock and 3D print. Hope you enjoy the samples.
