Happy Tuesday! Today I’ve got two simple cards to share with you, both featuring Distress Oxides with the Feathers & Ravens die set by Tim Holtz. I started with some simple ink blending to create my background, using a mix of warm colors- Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade & Abandoned Coral. Each card also features a sentiment stamp by Impression Obsession.
If you look closely, you’ll see some subtle feathers stamped on the background- these were stamped with water spritzed on my stamps instead of ink, giving a subtle ‘ghosting’ effect- appropriate for the day before Halloween I thought 🙂 I used feathers from a stamp set by Altenew on this card.
For this second card, I used the sentiment in the background- partly ‘ghosted’ and partly in the Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Ink for some subtle variations.
I used the Sakura Quickie Glue pen for adhering the small details in these dies, but also added some 3D foam squares for dimension. I like mixing the two on a single die sometimes so some parts lay flat and some pop- like on this bird where I chose to glue his feet & tail flat to the card base. You can tell by the shadows which parts are flat and which were raised.
Hope you have a fantastic week!
Inky hugs,
Tara
I really like the ghosting technique you did on the background! Terrific colours for ‘All Hallows Eve’! 🙂
