Tuesday with Tara {take 16}

Happy Tuesday!

Today’s card features a twist on a fun technique I’ve actually shown you once before (here) a fabulous Stampendous sentiment stamp and some gorgeous flowers & embellishments by Prima.

My card was crafted on watercolor paper, partly for the texture and partly so I could add Distress Ink to the dried background and blend with water.  I used an open circle stencil and mixed up a combination of translucent embossing/texture paste, Distress Ink & some glitter.  I mixed it up right on my craft sheet and spread it imperfectly onto my background paper.  When it dried (around 20-30 minutes later) it was shiny and sparkly 🙂  The stencil I used had an all-over design, but I selected which areas to apply the paste so I had room for the stamp I chose.  I inked the edges with Distress Ink and blended with a water brush (a wet paintbrush would work as well).  The rest of the card is simply assembled with a bit of patterned paper, flowers & a key hole embellishment by Prima.  A few of the flowers have beads and chunky glass glitter glued in the center for some fun textural details.  Here’s a close up for ya…

Hope you like my card and will think about playing with some blending different mediums… see what fun you can create!

Inky hugs,

Tara
