Tuesday Tutorial – Emboss Resist – by Shellie

Hi Everybody, Shellie here with this weeks Tuesday Tutorial!  This week I thought I would show you a really cool and simple technique using clear embossing powder and glossy cardstock!  With the release of the New Studio K Embossing Powders just around the corner why not brush up on a few techniques now so you are prepared when they arrive on the shelves!?

1. Stamp your image using Versamark onto glossy cardstock (you may need to use a more solid image as opposed to a line image for this technique) Sprinkle with Clear embossing powder, and heat emboss.

2. Using a sponge (my sponge is a small piece of a grouting sponge from the hard ware store) and a circular motion sponge on your memento ink colours.  Always start with your lightest colour first.  Sponge only small sections with your lightest colour.

3. Add your second colour, again sponging on in a circular motion. Overlap your colours slightly at the edges. (at this point only parts of your glossy paper will have colour.

4. Repeat the above steps until you have used all of your colours and the entire piece of glossy cardstock is coloured.  As you can see this technique really makes your embossed image stand out!!

5. Using a kleenex, wipe off any excess ink that is ‘sitting’ on top of your embossed image.

6. your finished piece should look like this.  Remember to overlap your colours slightly to blend the colours together!

I used Studio K Clear Embossing powder (coming soon to Scrap ‘n Stamp), glossy cardstock, Inkadinkado Leaves Galore stamp set, Memento Dew Drop Inks, Core’dinations cardstock and Kaiser Craft Pearls
