Add a Little Funny!

What better day to add a little humour to than a Monday? FUNNY is today’s prompt for Scrap ‘n Stamp’s Random Acts of Cardness challenge. A few cute images and a punny sentiment, and I had my card:

I find this sentiment particularly funny as it’s a little more unexpected than some of the usual critter puns. Since it was also the perfect reason to play with these fun Lawn Fawn goat stamps (and dies) again, it was even better. For the water, I die cut a Poppystamps whittle wave background, then trimmed it so I could use it as a mask on the card base with some salty ocean distress ink. Stamped and embossed my sentiment, and my CAS card was done!

Come and play along once, a few times, or a lot with our daily Random Acts of Cardness word prompts – it puts you in the running for a $50 gift card to the store!

Keeping It Clean and Simple

Happy Victoria Day to our Canadian readers! I’m here with some inspiration for today’s Random Acts of Cardness prompt: CAS. Clean and Simple is my go-to style, so I attempted to be “extra” CAS with today’s card:

This is my first time using an Anita Jeram stamp – this one is Back Card Bunny, but I chose to give him front-of-card status. (He has a matching die, as well.) Theoretically, this could be a one layer card, but since he’s coloured with Copics and there was a little bleed-through, I adhered my panel to a sand cardbase.

If you’re posting a CAS card on social media, be sure to tag it with #snschallenge – you’ll be in the running for a $50 gift certificate to the Scrap ‘n Stamp store!

Home is Where the Books Are!

Happy Friday! Today’s Random Acts of Cardness word is HOME, and I made a card that, for me, has lots of elements of home:

I’ve used two new stamp and die sets from Avery Elle, Feels Like Home and Feels Like Home Addition. So cute! I had to make sure I included books, a hot beverage (tea for me, please) and a cat. Everything is from the first set except for the reading koala and the sentiment, which come from the addition. Because I can’t help myself, I stamped and embossed with clear embossing powder before colouring everything with Copic markers.  To create a bit of flooring, I masked off the top part of my white panel and lightly applied my antique linen distress ink pad directly to the cardstock. (I should probably reink it, but it adds the perfect variations of colour at the moment!) I added my panel to my card base before arranging everyone into their little scene.

I’d love to see how you might interpret today’s word prompt! Enjoy your weekend.
