Floral Fields

Hello crafters, Kia here with you today to share my Random Act of Cardness using prompt word “Dies”. For my card today I am using Tim Holtz Floral Field die.

I die cut the above flowers using Arches cold press watercolour paper, and to paint I am using Daniel Smith’s dot card, along with colours from the Ultimate Mixing Set.

My background is done again using Daniel Smith watercolours in Ultramarine Blue with Quinacridone Rose dropped in. The idea for the colours comes from a house in my neighbourhood whose garden has reds, oranges and a pop of yellow, along with green hedges. I think it is a fun mix of colours.

For my second card I used a Tim Holtz stencil for the background using Rainbow colours. I used distress oxide inks for the background.

To die cut the flowers I used Van Gogh black watercolour paper, which adds texture and is good and sturdy.

I used pink glitter ribbon where the join of the paper is from the stencil. I was concerned about that, but I think it works okay.

A reminder to use my discount code for 10% off your purchase.

Home is Where the Books Are!

Happy Friday! Today’s Random Acts of Cardness word is HOME, and I made a card that, for me, has lots of elements of home:

I’ve used two new stamp and die sets from Avery Elle, Feels Like Home and Feels Like Home Addition. So cute! I had to make sure I included books, a hot beverage (tea for me, please) and a cat. Everything is from the first set except for the reading koala and the sentiment, which come from the addition. Because I can’t help myself, I stamped and embossed with clear embossing powder before colouring everything with Copic markers.  To create a bit of flooring, I masked off the top part of my white panel and lightly applied my antique linen distress ink pad directly to the cardstock. (I should probably reink it, but it adds the perfect variations of colour at the moment!) I added my panel to my card base before arranging everyone into their little scene.

I’d love to see how you might interpret today’s word prompt! Enjoy your weekend.

Random Act of Cardness Day 12 – Stencils

Hi Everyone!

I hope you’re having a fun weekend. It’s Susan and I’m here to share some fun using the prompt from today’s Random Act of Cardness, That prompt is Stencils. I chose to use three different stencils – one was slimline and two were 6×6 – and make three slimline cards with them. I have video showing the process with each stencil but not how I made the cards. The video would’ve been too long if I did that too.

To watch the video please click HERE.

Below are the cards I made. If you have any questions about any of them, please leave me a comment here or on my YouTube channel and I will get back to you asap.

The first card uses the Wave to Me Stencil from Heffy Doodle. I paired it with the Polar Bear Pals from MFT,  the Full of Joy Stamp Set from C&9th, and the cloud stencil from MFT. The snowflakes are from the Avery Elle Snow Fun Stamp Set. I colored the images in with Tombow markers.

The second card uses the Heffy Doodle Broad Strokes Stencil and the circles I cut from the card above. The sentiment  and the snowflakes are from the Beautiful Baubles Add Ons from Taylored Expressions. I used some markers to draw the rest of the snowman and his hat.

The last card uses the Festive Friends from C&9th and Avery Elle’s Snow Fun for the snowflakes. I colored the image in with the same Distress Oxides I used on the panel plus the Broken China Distress Oxide. The snow is just torn card stock.

Happy Stampin’
and thanks so much for visiting!
Stay Safe Everyone!!
