Tuesday with Tara {take 340} Hey Ombre!

Hey you, happy Tuesday!

Over in our Facebook Challenge Group the theme of the day is OMBRE!  It’s always a fun theme, picking several colors that flow together… today, they are all the same color family working from light to dark.

Today’s cute card features some fun ombre accents on another trio of tags!  This time I chose to use Kraft tags (you KNOW I love me some Kraft!) with the adorable hot dog stamps by Tracey Hey.

I knew these sweet designs would look fabulous simply stamped in black ink, allowing me to play with a fun ombre look using shades of green Distress Paint on the edges of the tags!  I’ve used Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint and Rustic Wilderness together here, just brushed a different color along the edge of each tag and then added some splatters using the paint on one of the stamps in the set.

I cleaned off my brush between colors on a scrap of Cardstock and decided afterwords that it would be a fun touch to also stamp the balloons on that painted paper.  Since the ink was slow to dry on the painted surface, I added some embossing powder to speed things up and give it a bit of of shine.  The strings are some soft fabric wire which was easy to shape and then glue into place exactly where I wanted it.

I hope you like it and are inspired by this simple way to make an ombre card!

Inky (& painty!) hugs,

Tara

Tuesday with Tara {take 339} Happily Ever After

Happy Tuesday!  Today’s card was created to celebrate some dear friends who recently got engaged.  I took inspiration from today’s challenge theme, which is “tag” but I decided to group 3 small tags (coming soon from Hampton Art) together for my design.

This card went together pretty quickly, with the help of Distress Spray Stain to quickly cover the tags.  I taped them together with washi tape before spraying with shades of blue: salvaged patina, speckled egg & peacock feathers.  I wanted a variety of blues for my card to give a bold base for the glittery wildflower I die cut.

This lovely sentiment (coming soon to the store from Hampton Art) seemed perfect for the occasion, stamped simply in black on the lower two tags.  I added some black bling to the flower to tie it together, then finished with some teardrop shaped bling to mimic the flower petals.

I was pretty pleased with how it came together for a quick card, and more importantly my friend was delighted to receive it 🙂

Inky hugs,

Tara
