Tuesday with Tara {take 167}

Happy Tuesday!  I wish I could say that autumn is in the air… and maybe it is where you are, but for me it’s just a bunch of wind & rain (Thank you Hurricane Florence!).  There are some leaves changing and falling thanks to all the wind though, and since autumn is my favorite season I’m embracing it and dreaming of pumpkin spice and all that!  Today’s card is another one using a mixed media panel I created, this time with some autumn colors added into the mix. (Here’s some more cards I made with the same starter panel technique: a pink funky one, a softer mint one & a summery blue/green one)

I inked the edges with some Distress Oxide because I love the contrast of Peacock Feathers & rust together.  I then sprinkled some Color Burst in Burnt Orange onto the panel and misted very lightly with water so it would retail the variety of colored flecks in the bottle.  I also added a few touches of Liquid Metals in Copper.  Yum.  I love how it picks up on the embossing paste especially!

I finished off my card with a Rust panel which I embossed a pretty sentiment onto (from the MFT pretty poppies set) and adhered a leaf which I die cut from book paper to tie in with those elements on the mixed media panel.  A bit of teal twine finishes off the panel- I mounted it with foam tape so it would lay flat on the textured panel.

I hope you like my card!  If you’re a lover of autumn leaves like me, be sure to check back on Sunday Sept. 23  for our next blog hop!  It should be pretty fabulous!

Inky hugs,

Tara
